Diablerie on Set/Typhon
Right after the Anarch revolt I got a chance to commit diablerie on an antedelivian. I chose Set (might as well give it a shot since my prowess was 100 at the time, and the grail of ashes protects me from the unconquered soul event). But when I face the final guarding (a vampire with prowess 96), I die every time, even though the event states its a 50% chance.. Any idea how to get around it? Or should I reload to before I began the event chain? Thanks!

If you had killed him before, you would not have to fight him now, obviously.

Failing that, yes, if you die all the time it means the die was cast before you've made the save.

Or you could, you know, concede defeat. I am not teaching you how to have fun, just explaining myself. As it stands now, the Hunt is pretty much a head on assault on a being far far more powerful than yourself. Devs, in my opinion, are already too generous with chances for this kind of foolhardy enterprise to succeed.

Not saying there are no reasons to go hunting against all odds, for personal reasons or for "the greater good". I never fail to invent those myself, but my excuse is that I always end playthrough no matter the outcome. Young/pseudo third is a questionable badge of recognition for those desperate and/or stupid.

Reloading before the event won't do anything, CK3 (computer in general really) don't do "true random" so the seed (hence the result) has been decided much earlier.
If you want to change it, you would have to reload months before.

Ah thanks, this advice really helped (my character ate set). I know its silly to even think you can eat a third generation but I just wanted to see how it would combine with the grail of ashes. Thanks!
Content is there to be seen and Set had it coming.

They ate 2nd gens so of course they can be diablerized in turn. Scenarios for hunts are plausable too, but I feel their risks are underepresented. I mean, most of the bookmarked and clan-recommended characters would probably wait for better opportunity. You know, long-winded centuries-long plot rather than charging butt-♥♥♥♥♥ into unknown.

Some would charge, no doubt. Out of duty, temper, grief, greed, derangement, all of the above. I don't play those beyond meeting their major objectives, they are too restrictive/boring/uncomfortable to drag for centuries waiting for event. But it would be not unrealistic for one of them to succeed.
