What if instead of 3 blocks you made into 6? Or really 4? Upper and lower corners which could be 3x3x1 (or 3x3x2). Then have an upper and lower door which would be the same dimensions. That way you're within the geometry limits of the game and allows more modular designs.

@Kovatus Klok doing such thing would forces us to rethink the entire gate
The door's was designed to work like it does now. Doing it "modular" means no more central lock, and a rethink of door's design.

May I suggest also having a middle block that is 5x7 instead of just having 4x7 if possible.

No parts are 4x7. There is two 5x7 then the middle is 2x7

I think you misunderstood what i meant with my suggestion , Include a middle piece that is 5x7

It would unfortunately affect the models quality. In proportion to the vanilla gate its style is inspired of, compared to its size and number of polygons, it's already as low as it can be without lowering its overall quality.
Also concerning the server loading time, I didn't notice any major changes after enabling our gate on my server either

is there any chance of us getting a version of this gate using odd symmetry since the current one is even and not really usable for single ship hangers.

It would be less likely to happen as it would be a LOT of work to actually resize the door mechanism and the doors themselves

Hi to both Wolf and Kertit. Let me start by saying this isn't so much of a suggestion for this mod as it is for you guys to make another. Recently a group of mods known as "The Powerful Series" has become outdated and the original Author does not wish to continue supporting them. They were such a fun concept. More powerful versions of base items like refineries, assemblers, ion thrusters etc using the same aesthetics as the in-game ones, just requiring 10x/50x the resources and providing 10x/50x the output.
It was a space-saving block and was incredibly useful. Unfortunately i have no modding experience myself so it would be awesome for someone with some knowhow to make a working version. It would involve just using the basic non-dlc design and adding an alternate version with an altered component cost to make and altered output.
I know this is more work and i have 0 expectations at all but after seeing how flawlessly you implemented a whole new door with it's own aesthetics, i hoped you might find the time to do something less difficult to fill a void that has been created in the community
Let me say that i know there are mods like "Variable thrusters" and "Ultima battery" etc which handle exactly that. Most of these are outdated, buggy or just not powerful enough.

It is not 'that' impossible I will start making new mod one day.
Unfortunately Wolf have less time than before to focus on making mods so I'll be alone on this one. But It is still doable as I was the artist and wolf more like the one who made the integration.

Another sound please? I love big hangar doors like this one, with fancy mechanism to open and stuff, but the regular door sound just doesn't fit this immense amount of metal that's moving here. So if you'd change the sound to a more impressive sound, that would be great.

Tbh, I totally agree with you, however, using the game sound bank was the easiest thing to do. We do not plan on updating the mod unless it stops working the way we want to, but, it's a very good idea to keep in mind in case of a mod update !
