Maybe instead of it flying, the engineer shoots out a large metal ball. When the ball comes in contact with the ground it props itself on 3 spider like legs, sprouts out two guns, and basically functions as a mini sentry?

How about its like lets say the medics crossbow,You shoot it and sticks to a wall and pops open,But hitting a player would cause it to bounce off causing damage and pop open on where ever it lands?

Moving sentries would be too much of a hassle for Valve to balance, and a Heavy works pretty well in terms of a moving sentry.

then that would mean the original flying sentry weapon is op, as my idea is practically the same as the flying sentry's but it deploys onto the ground.

How about this. We keep the walking sentry idea, only it is very slow, but controllable by the Engineer. It also will have very low health, meaning the Engie has to know how to dodge attacks, and use cover around the map.

A sentry that moves? Thus defeating the purpose of having it called a "sentry"

Zeta, the sentry can move. Sentries dont have to be stupid stationary boring firing waste of metal.
