Perfectly fine, perfectly normal. 3/5 stars.

Derailed is a decent 4-map campaign that gets the basics right. There are challenging horde events, it looks pretty good, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. It might not win awards for originality, but it's a solid gameplay experience throughout with no gimmicks.

However, it has a lot of little problems that add up. To name a few, each map is surprisingly easy to get lost in even with arrows pointing the way, and Survivors never talk in this campaign, which makes the first issue worse. Safe rooms also don't have ammo piles even though the rest of the campaign gives you plenty of supplies.

Overall, I think Derailed might be a "love it or hate it" campaign. It's not bad at all and I doubt you'd regret trying it, but it's not bringing many of its own ideas to the table either. That could easily be a positive to some players, though -- particularly those looking for a decent challenge that still feels vanilla. Your mileage may vary, as they say.
