for some reason the game doesn t like loading the menu and gives you a big error screen
if you remove this mod or VCE the game will work

I was wondering what was causing the crash:steamhappy:

Does the same with VGP Garden Canning. As far as I can tell it works fine with the rest of the VGP mods but crashes as soon as Garden Canning is added. Took forever for me to pinpoint what other mod was causing my mods list to crash after VCE was removed. I was about to report it when I found this thread.

Ah, yes - that was driving me crazy the last few hours - seems The Salt /Salted Meat system kills it

Good thing I found this thread... After an hour or two of eliminating mods to figure out which one it was and triumphantly coming to post about it XD

I'm inclined to agree, a lot of the error messages refer to all the different sorts of salted meat, individually, to the point that it fills the error log's limit just by itself. On a related note, is there a way to excise the salted meat system from the mod on our end? Would be quicker than waiting for a proper patch.

Sidenote, if you have Rimworld of Magic along with VCE and The Third Age all the error messages reference stuff from Rimworld of Magic instead for some reason, even though Rimworld of Magic paired with either of the latters has no problems by itself.

It's also doing the same for me. I thought it was the LOTR races but it's actually this.

Fixed the issue, Vanilla Cooking Expanded adds canned meat and fish that is not rottable but still defines them as RawMeat. That caused an error when this mod tried to generate a saltet meat-variant of them.
It should now skip all meat that is not rottable.
