Custom Civilization Abilities
The following posts describe what the various features of the included Civs are.

When the "Unique Unit" bullet shows a unit, it has 2 additional units shown in parentheses. The first unit is the normal BNW version of the unit. The second unit listed is the World at War equivalent.

Bulgaria -- Boris III
  • UA: Units receive +25% combat bonus against larger Civilizations (based upon city count). Workers build improvements 25% faster.

  • UB:
    Gimnaziya: Grants +2 Science, and +1 Faith. Also adds +1 Science for each 4 Population. Adds 2 Science Specialist slots.

    Voenna Akademiya: Adds +10 XP to units produced in the city, increases defensive strength, and adds +1 Happiness. Requires Castle.

  • UU: Panzer 35t (WW1 Landship/Light Tank). Panzer IV (Tank/Tank). WW2 Infantry.


China -- Chiang Kai-shek
  • UA: Military Units require 25% less experience to acquire a new promotion. Killing an enemy unit grants Culture and Faith bonuses equal to 25% of the Strength of the killed unit.

  • UB:
    Naval War College: Replaces Seaport. Adds +1 Production and Gold from Sea Resources worked by this City. Adds +15% Production when building Naval Units, as well as +15 XP to naval units built in the City.

    Tongwen Guan: Replaces Public School. Adds +3 Science, as well as +1 Science for every 2 Citizens. Provides two Science Specialists in the City and costs much less to maintain.


Czechoslovakia -- Edvard Benes
  • UA: Can create twice as many Trade Routes as usual, while foreign Trade Routes provide +2 Gold and +1 Culture. Cities receive a +25% Production bonus when constructing a Building that is already in the Capital.

  • UU: Skoda 32 (WW1 Landship/Light Tank). Lehky Tank v.38 (Tank/Tank). WW2 Infantry.


Finland -- Carl Mannerheim
  • UA: Land units move faster in Hills, and +25% combat strength in friendly territory. Units earn points toward a Golden Age for each enemy unit killed.

  • UU: P-36 Fighter (Triplane/Fighter Mk I). BT-42 (WW1 Landship/Light Tank). WW2 Infantry.

    When the Main World at War mod is enabled, Finland will receive Ski Troops in lieu of Halftrack Units.


France -- Albert Lebrun
  • UA: Birth rate of Great Generals is increased by 25%. Great Generals provide +25% combat bonus (instead of the normal +15%). Artist specialists provide +2 Culture.

  • UB:
    Gros Ouvrage: Adds a small amount of (+4) defensive strength and (+25) Hit Points to the city.

    Gendarmerie: Reduces enemy spy stealing rate by 33%. Adds various yields, based on certain Social Policies (Industrial Espionage: +2 Production. Double Agents: +2 Science. Covert Action: +2 Gold. Mandate of Heaven: +2 Faith. Merchant Confederacy: +2 Gold).

Germany -- A. Hilter
  • UA: All Armor Units gain +15% attack, +1 Movement, and ignore enemy ZOC. Land units cost 25% less maintenance. Great Generals spawn rate +33%, and provide +30% combat bonus (instead of the normal +15%).

  • UB:
    Organisation Todt: Adds +3 Production, and +25% Production when building Units. Provides 2 Engineer Specialist slots. Requires 1 Oil. City must have a Factory (BNW) or Freight Depot (World at War).

    Stapostellen: Reduces enemy spy stealing rate by 33%. Adds various yields, based on certain Social Policies (Industrial Espionage: +2 Production. Double Agents: +2 Production. Covert Action: +2 Production. Mandate of Heaven: +2 Production. Merchant Confederacy: +2 Production).


Greece -- Ioannis Metaxas
  • UA: Units ignore movement costs when moving on to Hill tiles. During a Golden Age, Units have +15% combat bonus when attacking. Golden ages last 25% longer.

  • UB:
    Mouseio: Replaces Museum. Grants +2 Culture, and an additional +2 Culture on each nearby Antiquity site. Provides 2 Great Works of Art slots. Requires Opera House in the City.

    Chorofylaki: Hellenic Gendamerie, replacing the Police Station. Reduces enemy spy stealing rate by 25%, while increasing Production due to the lowering of crime in the City. Increases the City`s Defense Strength by 5 and Hit Points by 15, making it more difficult to capture.Requires Constabulary in the City.


Hungary -- Miklos Horthy
  • UA: Birth rate of Great Generals is increased by 25%. Great Generals provide +25% combat bonus (instead of the normal +15%). Artist specialists provide +2 Culture.

  • UB:
    Boletta Office: Adds +2 Gold, as well as +1 Food for each grass and plains tiles worked by this city. Also adds +1 Gold on cow, deer, sheep, wheat, and wine resources worked by city. Requires Market in the city.

    Levente Association: Increases the City`s Defense Strength by 5 and Hit Points by 15, making it more difficult to capture. Adds +5 XP to land units produced in the city, and reduces enemy spy stealing rate by 3%. Requires Constabulary in the City.


Italy -- Benito Mussolini
  • UA: Golden Ages 10% longer, during which, all units +1 movement and +10% strength. Units receive +10% bonus against City-States. +10% Production toward Buildings already in the Capital.

  • UB:
    Bonifica Integrale: Adds +2 / 15% Production, and +1 Production per 4 population in the city. Also adds 1 Engineer Specialist slot. Requires Windmill.

    Latifondia: Adds +2 / 15% Production, and +1 Production per 4 population in the city. Also adds 1 Merchant Specialist slot. Requires Market.


Japan -- Hideki Tojo
  • UA: Units fight at full Strength even when damaged. Killing an enemy unit grants a one-time Culture bonus equal to half of the Strength of the killed unit. +2 Culture from Atolls.

  • UB:
    Imperial Prefecture: Replaces the Courthouse. Eliminates extra Unhappiness from an Occupied City. Also adds +1 Production for each source of Aluminum, Coal, Iron, and Oil worked by the city.

    Kyodo Gakko: Replaces Military Academy. Adds +15 XP for all Units, and +1 Culture. Reduces enemy spy stealing rate by 3%. Also adds +2 Science on the discovery of Replaceable Parts (BNW) or Operations Research (World at War). City must have an Armory.

Norway -- Haakon VII
  • UA: Land units move faster in Hills, and +25% combat strength in friendly territory. Land Units maintenance costs reduced by 25%.

  • UU: Tribal Class Destroyer (Destroyer/Corvette). P-36 Fighter (Triplane/Fighter Mk I). WW2 Infantry.

    When the Main World at War mod is enabled, Finland will receive Ski Troops in lieu of Halftrack Units.


Poland -- Felicjan Skladkowski
  • UA: Units receive +15% combat bonus against larger Civilizations (based upon city count). Military Units require 15% less experience to acquire a new promotion.

  • UB:
    Polish Sejmik: Replaces the Temple. Boosts Culture and improves Happiness in the City. Adds +25% Great People generation. Requires a Monument in the city.

    Corps of Cadets: Military Academy replacement. Adds +15 XP for all Units, and a Scientist specialist slot. Also adds +2 Science on the discovery of Combined Arms (BNW) or Operations Research (World at War). Reduces enemy spy stealing rate by 3%. City must have University.


Romania -- Carol II
  • UA: Units receive +15% combat bonus against larger Civilizations. Oil resources provide +50% quantities.

  • UB:
    Painted Monastery: Grants +2 Culture and Faith. Also adds +1 Faith on each Hill, Mountain, and River Tiles worked by the City. Adds 1 Great Work of Art slot.

  • UU: Panzer 35t (WW1 Landship/Light Tank). TACAM R2 (Bazooka/Tank Destroyer). WW2 Infantry.


Soviet Union -- Joseph Stalin
  • UA: Adds +15% Combat Strength in friendly territory. Units receive +10% Combat Strength bonus if within 2 tiles of a Farm. No Movement cost to pillage. Land Unit maintenance costs are reduced by 25%.

  • UB:
    Voyenkomat: Soviet Armory replacement. Adds +15 experience for all units trained in the city. Adds 15% Production when producing Infantry, Air Defense, and Anti-Tank Units. Provides a small amount of defense to the City. Requires Barracks.

    Traktorni Zavod: Provides +15 XP for newly created Armor units. Adds +2 [ICON_PRODUCTION] Production, and +25% Production when building Armor units. Also adds +1 Production for each source of Aluminum and Oil worked by the city. Provides 1 Engineer Specialist slot. City must have a Factory (BNW) or Weapons Factory (World at War).


Spain -- Francisco Franco
  • UA: Trade Routes with other Civilizations provide +1 Gold and +3 Culture. Mines +1 Production. Military Units receive +25% combat bonus against City-States and their Units.

  • UB:
    Chancilleria: Adds +1 to Happiness, Production, and Science. Increases Great Person generation by +25%. City must have a University.

    Sociedad Economica: Adds +3 / +25% Gold, and adds two Merchant Specialist slots. Requires a Bank.

Turkey -- Kemal Ataturk
  • UA: Trade Routes generate +2 Science and +1 Culture. Receive +33% Production bonus when constructing a Building already in the Capital.

  • UB:
    Sibyan Mektebi: Adds +1 Production and +2 Science. City must have a Library.

    Turkish Bath: Adds +2 Gold, and +1 Happiness and Culture. 40% of Food is carried over after a new citizen Citizen is born. City must have an Aqueduct.


United Kingdom -- Winston Churchill
  • UA: Naval Units receive +2, and embarked units +1 movement, with +1 visibility. Naval unit maintenance costs reduced by 33%. Fishing Boats add +2 Production.

  • UB:
    Home Guard: Armory replacement. Adds +15 experience for all units trained in the city. Adds 25% Production when producing Infantry, Air Defense, and Anti-Tank Units. Provides a small amount (+3) to the defense to the City. Requires Barracks.

    Improved Fighter Factory: Provides +33 XP for newly created Fighter units. Fighter units built with the Interception I promotion. Adds +2 Production, and +33% Production when building Fighter units. Also adds +1 Production for each source of Aluminum and Oil worked by the city. Provides 1 Engineer Specialist slot. City must have a Factory (BNW) or Weapons Factory (World at War).


United States -- Franklin Roosevelt
  • UA: Golden Ages +50% longer. Specialists provide +1 Production. Worked Strategic Resources provide +1 Gold and +1 Production.

  • UB:
    Improved Bomber Factory: Provides +33 XP for newly created Bomber units. Bomber units built with the Air Siege I promotion. Adds +2 Production, and +33% Production when building Bomber units. Also adds +1 Production for each source of Aluminum and Oil worked by the city. Provides 1 Engineer Specialist slot. City must have a Factory (BNW) or Weapons Factory (World at War).

    Improved Weapons Factory: Adds +2 Production, and +33% Production when building military units. Also adds +1 Production for each source of Aluminum and Iron worked by the city. Adds 2 Engineer Specialist slots. City must have a Factory (BNW) or Munitions Factory (World at War).


Yugoslavia -- Dragisa Cvetkovic
  • UA: Birth rate of Great Generals is increased by 25%. Mines +1 Gold and Production.

  • UB:
    Fruska Gora: Grants +3 Faith and +1 Culture. Also adds +5% Culture. Adds 1 Musician Specialist slot.

    Kafana: Adds +2 Happiness. City must have an Amphitheater.

  • UU: ME-109 Fighter (Fighter/Fighter Mk II). SM-79 Bomber (Bomber/Light Bomber). Re-35 (WW1 Landship/Light Tank). WW2 Infantry.
