Overheat
+infinite ammo capacity
-overheats overtime*
-the higher the overheat, the slower it is to put away the gun

+cannot be instant killed by a backstab**
-will immediatly maximum overheat if backstabbed

+30% less damage when attacked from behind
-any damage from behind will cause overheat to increase

-cannot random crit
-minicrits if kritzkrieged

+dispensers can cause overheat to go down quicker
-no healing from dispensers while weapon is out

*a meter will appear on the hud when the weapon is equipped (it will be there at all times even if you have a secondary or melee out)

While firing, the weapons overheat meter increases, the higher this meter, the brighter the backpack glows, this visual que allows enemy players to know that the heavy is about to overheat and retreat

If it overheats, a loud noise plays, like a steam whistle (this alerts anyone nearby, even those around corners out of eyesight) and the heavy can no longer shoot. Attempting to shoot beyond this point will cause smoke to come out of the gun only, and loud cranking noises play, visually letting the player know they cannot fire

if you continue to attempt to fire beyond this, the Maximum Overheat stat occurs, causing self damage as the player is set alight by afterburn from the backpack, this afterburn is shorter than pyros afterburn, but can be constantly reset and can technically last forever if the player holds the fire button

The overheat meter goes back down if the player stops firing. If the player revs their minigun, it goes down slower, if they just leave it be, it goes down quicker

**due to how large the weapons ammo pool backpack is, you cannot be killed by a backstab at any point even if you have a melee or secondary weapon out

However instead due to difference in pressure caused by the large hole in your backpack, your weapon will reach its maximum overheat status, causing heavy to burst into flames with the afterburn effect and stopping him from firing

The maximum overheat can be seen as both a drawback and an aide to those who are smart

This allows heavy to self damage themselves without the use of a self damage melee, or damage himself quicker with both equipped, giving free uber to medics during setup or on their way back to the battlefront
