If this was in-game...
What would be the stats of this weapon and its up and downsides? I'm thinking heaps of extra ammo, on kill 5 seconds of mini crit, 40% slower movement speed and weapon swap speed? :balloonicorn:

And 30% slower reload time and maybe 10% extra damage

How about increased accuracy, but longer switch-out time?

No, I highly doubt that Valve'll even think about making a reload animation for this. They'll probably treat this the same as the miniguns. Just keep firing until you hear a CLICK,then switch to shotgun or fists.

Looks like a good item :)

I think I'd say a lot more ammo, improved accuracy, possibly more damage, but - 30% switch time and - 20% speed. That's my idea, :crate:

Well, personally I would recommend something that doesn't have a damage increase, Maybe 300 Ammo tops and a bullet speed increase? Con-wise I'd give it a slower movement speed when weapon is active and/or a slower fire-rate. In a nutshell...

+50% Increased Ammo
+20-30% Bullet Speed/Projectile Speed
-30% Movement Speed when active
-20% Slower Fire-rate.

That sounds about right, but I would add in 20% slower switch time

try to make it have 15% slower speed, maybe -50 health but on kill gives mini crits for about 3 seconds and has +50% amm0

Wait, Do you notice that it has a cartridge? Well they could show a simple animation of heavy taking out the cartridge then putting it back in. Those animations don't take too long to make you know? Anyhow back to the main thing, im thinking a reasonable 50% - 70% increased hipfire aim, but with a disadvantage of 35% or so slower reload time and 30% or so decreased ammount of ammo. ( Making it either 75- 125 ammo, because im thinking he will hold 2-3 cartridges. ) And maybe with some other weapons and the one Heavy Misc with the ammo ' Packages ' you could have you're set. ( I can't remember the name of the Heavy Misc so just )

Also do you realize how fast the heavy kills? When ubercharged ( With the plain Medigun ) After he kills someone ( Which typically spans from about 2-10 seconds while ubercharged ) He will be a bit TOO op because even without Mini-Crits he can almost instantly kill. That is why i refer to the whole topic of 1-999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
seconds of Mini-Crit / Crit maybe just a BIT unfair... ( sarcasm )

Improved accuracy while crouching because of the bipod.
HypNoLife 23 Feb, 2014 @ 11:53am
Yup

I guess Gadget isn't merging threads anymore, since there's two extra stat discussion threads now.

How about this. When at a wall that is lower than the weapon's muzzle, but touching or higher than the bipod, the heavy can zoom in like the sniper, but not as much. This is balanced by the lowered visibility and vulnerability to snipers and spies. The heavy does not slow down when firing, but the bullet spread turns into a ♥♥♥♥♥ when running upright. However, the spread is not as bad as when crouching. Crouching still slows you down, but when firing, doesn't stop you. It fires twice as fast, but it only shoot one bullet at a time, rather than three. (Yes, the minigun shoots three bullets at a time. One round is 3 bullets.) When healed by a medic, medic can carry up to 300 extra rounds for you, so you can fire up to 500 rounds without scavenging extra ammo. Heavy can ready weapon faster for firing. When using it with the bipod, heavy becomes immune to headshots by snipers, but every headshot slowly takes away armor on the included hat (I'll get to that in a moment) depending on the charge, and adds a flashbang-like effect that blurrs the vision and swings your view around (if you've ever played SWAT 4 and hit yourself with a stinger grenade, you know what I'm talking about), so it's harder to tell where you're aiming. When the armor of the hat is depleted, you are no longer invulnerable to headshots, but you can regain the armor by picking it up from the body of a dead soilder or another heavy who was equipped with this weapon, or from a dispenser or cabinet. About the hat, you can wear it if you want, but only if you aren't wearing another hat, and if you don't want to, you can change the style, but whether or not you wear it, the effect stays, so you can wear another hat or whatever and won't have a problem. The hat comes with the weapon, or can be bought in the store, traded for, etc. The former version shares it's slot with the weapon, so in all, the weapon and hat take up only one inventory slot. The hat is a standard issue USMC helmet. If you want, it can be team colored, or colored with paint, or you can just give it some camo. The hat could be worn with hats like the deus specs, and can be worn with any class.
