Secondly, in the more general comments someone suggested adding Unicron... and i for one think thats a wonderful idea, with a MULTITUDE of possible ways to utilize it...
First idea, as i suggested elsewhere, would be a randomly occuring Mid-to-endgame event, effected by wether or not there is a Cybertronian empire or not(Maybe tie it to the existance, or colinization, of Cybertron in the galaxy?), and it simply flies around, destroying inhabited worlds to power itself up, before hitting a certain power level and flying towards Cybertron, eating anymore inhabited planets on the way to get stronger... eating Cybertron making it rediculesly difficult to kill, as it resumes killing every habitable world in the galaxy untill stopped...
Second is tie it to overuse of Dark Energon, specially if the empire has made a Dark Cybertronian world, eventually causing a event to happen that, if ignored, or if you do not resolve it soon enough, the Planet awakens, and the planets functionally destroyed as it "Awakens" Into Unicron... before following the behavior as above...
If you want it a little more... Crisis-y, a good option could be to instead of having it just destroy habitable worlds, it could corrupt planets in Systems in passes through, turning them into Corrupted Dark Energy worlds, with corrupted, mutated, or zombie-like robot Pops(Unicron Cells, maybe?) that are functionally, lore wise atleast, a extension of Unicron itself...
Potentially still gaining power every system/world it corrupts, as each are channeling energy towards the center of the "Hive MInd", tho if possible, being able to destroy these systems/worlds to weaken it might also be cool...
In addition to EITHER of the Others, a origin where your Planet is functionally a Derelect Unicron and your working to resurrect it, eventually achieving this, which functionally removes your home world and gives you a increbibly powerful Vessle that can be upgraded for massive Energy/alloy/other costs...
I think it'd be neat if its Bombard could Crack planets, or otherwise have a Planet Cracker ability? I dont know, as i've never modded this game, i don't know the limitations, i can just think on and pitch Idea's...
All i know is i am rather fond of the idea of playing a autobot Federation builder, with the "Interventionalist" civic from another mod, trying to unite, and protect, the entire galaxy from whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ could occur.
Or maybe the Decepticons would get special events when they invaded primitive Empires, like the aliens do and react to different things for different ages, like bronze to medival age they might worship you, or Atomic - to modern age they might fight back, or even do things like make the human villians in Prime, you could get an event where they want to join you.
Maybe while Decepticons are doing this, Autobots could get events where they intervene at times, like arming the humans, doing raids, etc.
Finally, It would be cool if there were more planetary events, like dud Cyberformer on the planet, or maybe special evens like "Crashed Ark." or "Crashed Nemisis." if an exploration crusier is destroyed in a system with a habital planet.
No stress for you or anybody else, this mod is AMAZING. I would never want you people to get over worked in this project.
The spawn trigger is set to the start around the mid-game period (2300), so it shouldn't spawn too early in your game. Let me know if it occurs again.
As for binary bonding, perhaps it could be handled as an origin--two species, a primary Headmaster and a secondary organic. The secondary organic forces the game to spawn a "Hive" faction, with the implication that the Hive are the *true* rulers of Nebulan society (or whichever name the player chooses)
Or it could be like Rogue Servitors (with a secondary organic again), but instead of building Organic Sanctuaries, they build either Scorponok or Fortress Maximus buildings (depending on whether they're Autobots or Decepticons), which provide "Headmaster" jobs that produce Naval Capacity, like the Duelist job does?
I don't mean to come off as rude, but why don't you just make custom empire with the decepticon civic and rename them as Predacons. Like you said with the Maximals, the Predacons are descendants of the Decepticons. In this mod, I have a opinion modifier where Decepticon empires would be more amicable towards each other if they meet. It's all based on the civic, so you can make whatever machine race you want become a Decepticon Empire.
However in the future, I may add some civics and traits for the Maximals and Predacons.
