Balancing
Is the mod too hard or too easy?
I would love to hear your suggestions!

first I need to say I decided to play on the easiest difficulty to get used to the changes. Even on easiest difficulty I've run into some issues. They very well may be my fault but they were very frustrating. I had a very hard time with a near invulnerable zombine at fairview junction. I had no grenades and no shotgun ammo, and was very short on pistol ammo. Getting behind him was nearly impossible he would always turn to face me before I could aim at his back. I would request at least a small weak point in front. The ammo is another issue, the encounter may have been less frustrating if I had found more. I'm thinking the because there is no longer any reason to search for resin, have additional ammo hidden around would encourage exploration in place of the no longer needed resin. I don't know how much of this is possible or if some of that was intentional but I thought you might like to hear my thoughts. if not feel free to disregard this, I'm still having fun, I especially like that I don't have to collect resin.

Thanks for the feedback!, I'm working on adding more ammo spawns. I'll try to work a weak spot into the front as well.

It would be interesting if the combine's armor deteriorated and or broke making them vulnerable from the front.

First combine encounter.... Died a lot. Changed the difficulty to easy, but it seems like there wasn't any change. You just die far too quick to combine. I used smooth locomotion with higher (than default) movement speed. They also seems to be very accurate.

Also the enemies take now more damage (don't they?), makes them feel even more like bulletsponges. Btw before the combine I didn't die once.

Ammunition in the beginning seems to be a little bit too low. While I didn't run out, I can see other people running out of ammo.

What level did you run low on ammo at?

I'm working my way through on hard mode. I'm toward the end of chapter 6 I think. The changes are awesome so far. My question is that a couple of the heavily armored Combine take a lot of ammo. And I mean A LOT. Are some of them suppose to be ammo dumps or am I going about killing them wrong?

You're meant to get close to them with the shotgun or use grenades to reduce their heals. The double shot upgrade on the shotgun lets you fire twice in quick succession to kill them easier. The best way to kill them is with a shotty and shoot them either in the back, or crotch where they have no armor.

There is a system in place where plasma armor breaks after a bunch of bullets (like 30-60ish). But, I'm working some stuff that lets you knock off individual pieces of armor.

I've started to play this mod today and so far I'm loving it, I love that there's more enemies to fight and also finding enemies in places where you knew they weren't before, it makes it feel fresh and new, that's great.

What I dislike quite a lot is this type of enemy that seems to take dozens and dozens of bullets to die. I found one in this area where you need to activate the train and I couldn't kill him, no matter how many bullets and shotgun shots I shot. By reading the comments I suppose that's the self-healing type though I saw no signs of that. Personally I find it very frustrating and unnecessary. 30-60 bullets to kill an enemy is just too much IMO.

I'll try to approach him on his back and do the shotgun double shot to see if that works but what if you run out of shotgun bullets? I think the way to kill him should be more obvious or have a visible weak spot.

Anyway, so far as I said I'm loving this and I find this mod a must-play once you've played the game in its original form, I'll probably use it in all my future plays.

EDIT: They were actually quite easier to kill so no complaints. As for those who you can kill by shooting at their crotch that was brilliant LOL if anything it would be nice to have some indication about it since through the special scope on the pistol you can't see any weak spots there. For someone who hasn't read about it it's going to be very hard to find out about that spot.

Great mod, this is my preferred way of playing Alyx now (together with the increased speed in the launch options). Next time Valve, please just add a freaking movement speed option in the menu!!
