Vehicle Wreck Balance Problem
On the map, there are two areas that feature vehicle wrecks, used to provide environmental storytelling of the previous battles that happened before the arrival of the players.

These two locations are the south-eastern territory point, right below Team 2
And the north-western munitions point at the corner of the map.

However, these wrecks are in fact salvageable. With everything congregated so closely, this causes a few things to happen that throws the balance off the window.

  • Free Fuel and Munitions for OKW - If the Axis players start out as Team 2, their objective will be to rush over to this field and scrap every last vehicle in sight.

    In the south-east territory point, there are 8 vehicles wrecks that can be salvaged, which, if the OKW player uses the Salvage Doctrine, will also grant them munitions that can arm their troops extremely early, as well as rush out their tech buildings and speed up the deployment of a light vehicle such as the Luchs Tank.

    The north-western munitions point has 5 vehicle wrecks that can be salvaged, dispersed evenly on both sides.

    This totals to 40 fuel and 120 munitions in the south-east and 25 fuel or 75 munitions in the north-west, all from ambient wrecks.

    The area is FAR too out of reach for the allies on Team 1's side to rush and destroy, and even if they reach said wrecks, the OKW players will either have salvaged 2-3 vehicles already or said infantry may not even have the ability to destroy the wrecks - lacking any necessary explosives such as a timed charge or the "Destroy Cover" ability, making it nigh impossible to stop Oberkommando's free resources.

  • Allied Demolition Rush - Assuming that Team 2 consists of Allied players, now they have a dillemma of having to rush infantry to either fortify those positions - drawing their focus away from taking enemy territory or the central city - and/or focusing on placing demolition charges to destroy the wrecks, causing them to rapidly tech for the requisite unit and attempting to hold the area to prevent OKW from benefiting from the wrecks.

  • 170 Balance Problem - Various factions have access to salvage as well. Support pioneers, Soviet Field Engineers, the American Salvage Truck and Royal Engineer Recovery Teams can use these same ambient wrecks to much greater effect.

    The amount of fuel and munitions drawn is based on the vehicle class and wreck health.
    The south-eastern region features 8 tanks, 6 of which are medium tanks and 2 are heavy tanks. A soviet engineer team was able to requisition approximately 140 munitions and 105 fuel from these wrecks. Making the substantial advantage universal for whatever faction is on Team 2's side.

The simple fix would be to try to swap out the vehicle wrecks for world objects instead, similar to the StuG and Ostheer Panzer IV which cannot be salvaged at all.
This does mean the Panzerwerfers, Ostwind, T-34s, the Tiger and ISU-152 have to be removed but for the sake of balance, environmental story-telling shouldn't take precedence over game balance.

Oof, yeah, that's a really good point. I never really mess around with the salvaging mechanic, so I completely forgot that it's something you can do with wrecks in the game. I'll need to do a little tinkering and take out all of those vehicles.
