Gain both the 'Conceal' and 'Phantom' perks, but take 15% more damage from all sources.
Sergent
Recon
Scout the area, Marking all enemies in a large cone. Marked enemies take 10-20% more damage and lose 5 defense. Retains stealth.
Lieutenant
Concussive Shot
Fire a concussive blast with your pistol for a chance to stun. Also grants Sap.
Lieutenant
Sap
Fire a concussive blast with your pistol for a chance to stun. Retain Stealth. Costs two charges.
Captain
Shadowborn
The Rogue is much more difficult to detect while concealed. Also, small bonuses to aim and crit while in concealment.
Major
Battle Focus
Focus: Build 1 focus per turn. Accumulated focus boosts mobility (max 5). Also adds 'Grand Finale' Ability.
Major
Grand Finale
Release your built up focus, dealing 1 point of bonus flanking damage per point in a single shot (max 5).
Colonel
Last Wish
Once per mission, upon receiving Lethal damage, feign your death for two turns and heal 5 hp. Try and reconceal upon awaking.

The Lone Wolf gains 20 defense when alone. Allies within 5 tiles disable this bonus.

Gain 1 standard move after firing your primary weapon IF the shot lands. Can be used after moving once.

Riposte
Taunt the enemy, preparing to parry the next attack against you with your pistol. Deflect the attacker and leave them exposed if the shot lands.
Captain
Keep You Head Down
Makes half cover count as full cover at the expense of slightly reduced accuracy.
Major
Rush Of Battle
Focus: Build adrenaline when enemies are killed. Accumulated adrenaline grants a bonus to dodge (max 30). Also adds 'Cool Off' Ability.

Cool Off
Cool off, consuming all your adrenaline and healing 5% missing hp per point consumed.
Colonel
Blaze Of Glory
Take a final stand. Strike at every enemy in range before going out in a Blaze of Glory. But are you really dead?

Convert to a Scout. Gain improved vision, a free battlescanner, and changes blindside to reward high ground instead of flanking.
Sergent
Scout's Overwatch
The Rogue no longer has reaction fire penalties with overwatch and can crit, but can only watch over small regions.
Lieutenant
Flush
Fire a shot that encourages enemies to move. The shot is easy to hit with, but does reduced damage. Uses 2 ammo.
Captain
On The Move
Gain an extra starting action point each turn, but lose 6 mobility.
Major
Scouting Report
Focus: Collect 1 intelligence each turn. Intelligence provides offense and defense to all allies (max 5). Also adds 'Decisive Action' Ability.
Major
Desicive Action
Expend 5 intelligence to fully restore one ally's action points to 2.
Colonel
Reposition
All allies gain complete invisibility for one turn, but can only use movement commands. Allies return to previous state after one turn.

It looks like there are 6 abilities at Major rank. Am I reading that correctly? How does that work in game?

My guess, you get the 'focus ability and it's usage' at Major rank
Focus abilities are very possibly mutually exclusive.. so you have to decide which one to pick

there's a few skills that come as a bundle of two, like concussive/sap or the focus skills, so i've got them listed as being given at the same rank in the table.

yeah, a soldier can only have one kind of focus, otherwise things get weird in a hurry.

what would happen if I get the other focus type abilities with my extra AP do I break my soldier or have you locked the ability to unlock them?

you'd only get one of the focus bars (and associated stat bonus). which one would be a mystery!
all of the spenders would probably work, but obv BattleFocus/CoolOff is turned for a higher amount of focus generation/max that the others so may be kind of broken mixing them.

not entirely sure atm how to make abilities actually mutually exclusive, but it's best to treat them as if they are.

Hmm that's super interesting I wonder if there is a way to make a status effect stack and cause skills to work instead of a focus bar in order to make them work together not that I'm complaining or suggesting anything I love this mod already and super appreciate your work I just got curious

I already stated it in the main discussion, so disregard if you already read it, but I think I should point out that "Shadowborn" has the opposite of the intended effect for some reason. It seems to give enemies an ENORMOUS spotting range for whomever has this ability (if figure thay should have a reduced spotting rang, right?).

The original https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=618036260 says "15%" heal for Cool Off, but the above says "5%" was this a purposefully done nerf?

the gauge goes to 18, and you get 3 points for a kill. so it's the same amount of healing per kill.
