Balls getting progressively more useless with each update (With no buffs to the rest of her kit)
I think each update is progressively making the balls (her main gimmick) not worth using due to the nerfs. Micro managing the balls effectively now demands you to break pace for a longer period in a match and now the pay off to coordinate your attacks and conversion opportunity with the ball won't even last long enough to be a substantial investment. If her ball gimmick is going to be tuned down in longevity and raised in set up time (from previous patches) it should be balanced in a way to where the balls instantly have an active hitbox upon summon and you can make 2 right away or something along those lines. Consider having the neutral B summon be able to charge to level 3 again, or Increase the range of her forward special's hitbox against opponents (the same range it interacts with the ball) and down special's hitbox to interact with both the ball and the opponent.

I am inclined to agree with this assessment. While not as detailed a breakdown, I can say from a casual point of view, this update is a little frustrating. Having the ball permanently bounce around due to dspecial is really fun, especially since anyone on stage can get damage with it. I felt that was a risk one needed to consider when doing that. The only real downside I saw to the perma-ball is that it could get stuck in impossible-to-reach places on occasion, especially on Workshop stages. A simple button action to destroy the ball (down+taunt, maybe) would alleviate that issue and could provide an additional strategy to the gimmick at the same time.

The ball termination is a good idea.

I do have a thought though. While casually having the perma-ball is way more fun than just one bounce, I can somewhat understand why it might be considered unbalanced competitively. So how about this? Reinstate the perma-ball so it still has infinite bounces while neutral or active in Bat Bat's favor, but if the opponent hits the ball off the stage, then there's only one bounce for the dspecial to become inactive. That way Bat Bat's opponent does have a way to potentially get rid of the ball, but we still keep the fun of having it constantly bouncing around if we can keep it away.

Excellent, I hadn't considered that and it makes sense balance wise too. If the opponent doesn't want ball interference they can knock it off screen and dispell the bounce effect, but Batbat can still regain ownership if she goes out of her way to hit and d-special the ball. Do you have any opinions on increasing the effective range on her down and side specials to compensate for non ball based combat?

I don't really have any thoughts on the range, as I'm not sure how feasible it is to increase the range to hit opponents without increasing the range to hit the ball. For side special, though, a possible increase in the stunning effect could benefit non-ball combat greatly.

If you go into training mode and turn hitboxes on you'll see the side-b and up-b have two different rectangular hitboxes layered on each other, the blue hitbox with more range only affects the balls and the red hitbox with shorter range is the one that stuns opponents.

Welp, more nerfs to ball, not sure what the intended balance is by Sai, but my original post is more true now than before in regards to lack of reward, but increasing risk to use it. Btw the ball still stuns you even when it's in the opponents possession and you yourself parry it to get it back (I think that's an oversight, negative all around and it shouldn't stun you at all anymore, just reflect). Sai, If your intent is for the ball to not be used as much or just be generally ineffective - make the rest of her kit that centers around the ball more effective on it's own. So far I just predict a gimped character when she reaches Ver1.0.

Suggestion: The balls also level up upon hitting someone when sent flying with a strong attack. That way you have another option aside from F-special for leveling the ball.

they need to nerf them more as a bat bat main i want them to make the character worse so my opponents dont babyrage
