Movators - Go Places

Future Plans
There's no guarantee I'll follow through on these instead of losing interest in CC modding again, but here are my future plans around Movators:

More Movator Stuff
  • Movator Controller replacements you can buy during the match, in case your controller is destroyed. This would come as an item or an actor, and would have special behaviours and visuals to let you set it up where you want.
  • Movator Node deployers you can buy in game, to let you add more Movators to your network during the game. Like the controller replacement, it'd come as an item or an actor, and have special behaviours and visuals to let you set it up where you want.
  • Big, room sized Movators that'd let actors move freely inside a large (e.g. 5 x 5 of the current Movators) area. Ideally the size would be customisable by letting users place the top left and bottom right corners. These rooms would connect to the normal Movator Network
  • Industrial Movators - like normal Movators but 2 (or more) times as wide, and designed to move heavier things. They'd have a greater weight limit (or none) but would move more slowly.

A Fully Fledged UI
Some UI stuff has already been done for the text box displaying Movator Information. Ideally this'd be a library that any modder could use to setup nice UIs easily. More things include:
  • Buttons with function callbacks on click/mouse over, optional mouse over text, the ability to put icons or text or both.
  • Some sort of layout management, wherein the caller sets up a page and UI elements are laid out in it.
  • Possibly different styles of text box, if CC can support different fonts or text sizes.

A Full Energy Management System
When I was still into CC I always thought it would be awesome with more strategy elements behind it, and I still stand by that. This would be a separate mod/framework other mods could use, that would add Energy as a resource players have to manage to use compatible systems. They would also have, and have to protect, their reactors, batteries, etc. and have to refuel reactors when they run out.
This would mean that Movators would only work as long as they have energy, and would drain energy at a certain rate (this would depend on the Controller's settings, so a higher speed, for example, would drain more energy)
This would also extend to things I'd like to put in to work with the system - base shielding, large (potentially crewable) defense turrets, teleporters that bring purchased units into your base directly instead of through crafts, etc.
