"My friend vented to me" should not be a debuff
Actually, it should result in a mood buff for the pawn that was on the receiving end of the venting.

Being there for a friend and helping them through a hard time should never result in a mood debuff, but instead - like in real life - make you (the pawn) feel better about yourself, as you were able to help make your friend feel better.

That's really one of the core basis of social interactions, and helps to strengthen social groups.

well, I think it could be both.
knowing someone chose you to vent can be satisfying, but it can also be annoying, even if you love the person to bits.

so yeah, I think it could randomly result in a buff or debuff.

I'm in mostly agreement. I don't know off the top of my head if venting also increases the pawns' opinions of one another, but if it doesn't, I think it should - kind of like having a deep talk

Maybe different traits affect how venting is handled? Like, Kind pawns are much less likely to get a negative debuff and in fact will almost always get a mood buff from listening to someone vent. But other pawns with different traits might almost always get a debuff from listening to venting
