Questions And Answers Concerning the 'HelpMe Mod' - 04/13/2021

Single Player Questions

Question: When I 'Team Switched' to another unit, the menu was gone!
Answer: Do not worry! It is still there! This is no different if there were 2 units on the map; you and an AI. You had a rifle and the AI did not. You switched to the AI unit and discovered that the AI unit did not have a rifle. ARMA did not 'bring' your gear with you when you switched to the AI unit. This is why you do not see the menu; ARMA did not 'bring it with you when you switched'. There is an EASY fix! All you have to do is to 'activate' the 'HelpMe Mod' again using the 'HelpMe Mod' startup key, which is by default, the ALT-HOME key. And the menu is back! This 'missing' weapons/gear/HelpMe Mod/etc. is part of 'default' ARMA behavior. Each time you switch, you will need to hit your activation key(s)! A quick and simple fix!

Multiplayer/Server Questions

Question: Does the server need to run this mod?
Answer: No. This is a 'Client Side' mod. Only the players need to run it.

Question: How do I use this mod on a server?
Answer: The 'HelpMe Mod' key needs to be installed on the server in the server's key folder. Nothing else is required.

Question: How do I know if the key is installed on a server I wish to play on?
Answer: Easy! Your ARMA internet game launcher may indicate it, if not, then load ARMA with the 'HelpMe Mod' active and join a server! One of two things will happen:

#1 - You will join and be able to play

Or

#2 - You will be kicked

If you're kicked, you need to speak with the server admin about adding the key to their server.

Question: What can I do to let others play on my server with this mod being used by the players?
Answer: You have two choices:

#1 - Add the key to server

Or

#2 - In your server config file, set/add/modify this line: Verification disabled = 0; (Default (turned on) is 'Verification disabled = 2;')

See https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/server.cfg for more info on this.

Note: By setting 'Verification disabled = 0', anyone can use any version of a mod. Be it an old one, current one, or even a modified version of it. Bohemia does not recommend the setting of 'Verification disabled = 0' ever.

Question: I had the menu running and when I died/respawned it was gone!
Answer: The menu is still there. Some missions may not restore the 'HelpMe Mod' menu items, but not all is lost! All you have to do is to 'activate' the 'HelpMe Mod' again using the 'HelpMe Mod' startup key, which is by default, the ALT-HOME key. And the menu is back! This will also occur if you 'Team Switch' as well.
