In order to use the relic workbench, you need to feed the station with relic metal, so you either smelt a relic you don't want, or drop a relic metal chunk at it. Then you pour precursor materials into it, and if relic metal and precursor material budgets are met, a new relic will be spawned.
Gotcha. I've been noticing that some relics dont actually get turned into relic metal when thrown on the worktable. Is this a glitch or is it intentional that some relics can't be recycled?
All relics are made of the same solid material, which is set to be converted to liquid when in range of the furnace in the workbench, so usually that's what happens when you throw them on the funnel right above the furnace. The worktable, located left in the workbench, spawns new relics once the budgets are met and is not set to smelt relics, you must do it using the furnace, on the right side.
