also any chance you could double the extortion reward 3000 cats seems a bit stingy considering how much a bar in kenshi would make just selling food i still like the feature as is for rp but i can make more than that in a day just stepping out the hub for fives seconds
When you go back in a week to get paid you can raise the amount, and this can be done twice but the final increase has risks involved. The price can be increased to 5k and 8k, though I can change these easily. As for the numbers spawned that is my fault. It's supposed to spawn between 4-12 people with the leader being tougher and having a chance for better bear but it appears that I left the spawn limit under 6 so that I could test the dialogue with them that gets them to join (which is only triggered if their group is no bigger than five and yours is ten or larger). I will fix this with a patch tonight. Maybe the extortion numbers will change from 5k to 10k to 15k... Would that be too much?
yeh if that increase is in already that sounds more than fair, i'd definatley look more to vanilla suads with regard to gear and weapon levels for the racket suads,
it seems out of place well to me anyways i mean, that a extortion raid would have such high level gear, seems abit to cheaty when you wipe them out and cash in on all that expensive gear or get high level euipment for no cost, thats why the devs usually have it set from shoddy to standard for most npc bandits, too easy to wipe em and cash in or lead em to town guards or mercs etc, just my opinion but it does seem a bit out of place with the rest of the game. i was thinking aswell lore wise it would make sence the vanilla bar thugs would make good units to use as the rackerteers lackies, like the bulk of the suad. i made a crap tonne of cats off just the three racketeers lol XD
Suggesting that perhaps the cost for hiring to be higher or be gated by something else for early game (like only allowing certain squads to even have the dialogue in the first place, as an balance alternative.)? Otherwise, going for the recruit dialogue can be seen as a very META strategem early on by paying for affordable relations.
Easy enough to patch locally for my game after looking thru the mod since it's simply changing DA = TAKE MONEY or alternatively for me removing the free recruit option for max relations, but it might be a necessary change to add to the mod overall for balancing since it's not very hard to increase faction relations anyway (Shinobi thieves come to mind as prime example); thanks for reading if you do, and thanks for a great mod.
I'd still say that 5000 cats is too paltry for the "protection" option, and I would like to humbly suggest 8000 cats as a good value for both vanilla and modded economy playthroughs. Alternatively, it could be 10,000 and haggle-able down to 5000 depending on faction relations.. with an RNG chance of them just beating you up cause they got annoyed (Like the FOOKIT option for the angry bandits)
Overall, I'd say the changes are a great addition to your mod. Hopefully I'll get to see your next additions during my current playthrough!
