Hot takes/Saucy thoughts (thots?)
Have a strong opinion about an interaction in my mod? Struck with sudden inspiration for a funny bit of dialogue or character? Let me know, so that if it's a good idea I can steal it and change it just enough to claim that it was my idea all along. Or maybe I'll just work with you to flesh it out and incorporate it with a kind and thoughtful shoutout for your contribution. We'll see how it goes.

I think it'd be cool to have more interactions between characters that already have at least one dialogue chain, like Beep & Agnu or Crumblejon and Luquin.

With the rival misfits ark, where you got to extort a bar etc and they tell you to take out the other protection racket, i think theirs too few npcs for the base attack and they are outfitted with far too high lvl gear it would seem more fitting if you had high gear on the warleader and standard on the rest and had a few of the bar thug npcs added to the suad, by the time this mission came up i had fourteen strong ( mostly ex holy nation slaves with decent stats) and two bone dogs, so the rivals got wiped easy and the high lvl gear n weapons was more reward than the reward XD its kinda like more of a treasure delivery than an assault lol

also any chance you could double the extortion reward 3000 cats seems a bit stingy considering how much a bar in kenshi would make just selling food i still like the feature as is for rp but i can make more than that in a day just stepping out the hub for fives seconds

When you go back in a week to get paid you can raise the amount, and this can be done twice but the final increase has risks involved. The price can be increased to 5k and 8k, though I can change these easily. As for the numbers spawned that is my fault. It's supposed to spawn between 4-12 people with the leader being tougher and having a chance for better bear but it appears that I left the spawn limit under 6 so that I could test the dialogue with them that gets them to join (which is only triggered if their group is no bigger than five and yours is ten or larger). I will fix this with a patch tonight. Maybe the extortion numbers will change from 5k to 10k to 15k... Would that be too much?

ah lol ive only hit each shop once or twice and no option to raise the pay has come up yet, but ive been starting new extorts in different places hub rebel bar and two shops in stack,

yeh if that increase is in already that sounds more than fair, i'd definatley look more to vanilla suads with regard to gear and weapon levels for the racket suads,

it seems out of place well to me anyways i mean, that a extortion raid would have such high level gear, seems abit to cheaty when you wipe them out and cash in on all that expensive gear or get high level euipment for no cost, thats why the devs usually have it set from shoddy to standard for most npc bandits, too easy to wipe em and cash in or lead em to town guards or mercs etc, just my opinion but it does seem a bit out of place with the rest of the game. i was thinking aswell lore wise it would make sence the vanilla bar thugs would make good units to use as the rackerteers lackies, like the bulk of the suad. i made a crap tonne of cats off just the three racketeers lol XD

I changed their gear to shoddy, and increased their numbers to 4-10. I also gave the leader a little buff to his stats. If you have Interactive World then some of them will spawn with Tanegashima rifles as well, they can be dangerous.

I think it may be interesting if, for example, your character was sitting in a bar and hear incidental chat about hidden treasure, and they talk about it's location. Obviously observant players could go and get the treasure being discussed.

Would like to mimic the similar feedback found in comments re: recruiting dialogue.

Suggesting that perhaps the cost for hiring to be higher or be gated by something else for early game (like only allowing certain squads to even have the dialogue in the first place, as an balance alternative.)? Otherwise, going for the recruit dialogue can be seen as a very META strategem early on by paying for affordable relations.

Easy enough to patch locally for my game after looking thru the mod since it's simply changing DA = TAKE MONEY or alternatively for me removing the free recruit option for max relations, but it might be a necessary change to add to the mod overall for balancing since it's not very hard to increase faction relations anyway (Shinobi thieves come to mind as prime example); thanks for reading if you do, and thanks for a great mod.

@Schum after feedback the reputation gain and recruitment aspects of NPC dialogue have been modified, the patch notes briefly describe them. Let me know what you think!

@InvincibleIronCodpiece, thanks for the quick update! I wasn't able to respond ASAP because I actually had all my mods installed locally cause I tune them in the FCS and add local patches. The balance changes are greatly appreciated. I've tested the changes and I really appreciate the checks included for player strength, it solves the issue for early game META cheese.

I'd still say that 5000 cats is too paltry for the "protection" option, and I would like to humbly suggest 8000 cats as a good value for both vanilla and modded economy playthroughs. Alternatively, it could be 10,000 and haggle-able down to 5000 depending on faction relations.. with an RNG chance of them just beating you up cause they got annoyed (Like the FOOKIT option for the angry bandits) :zaglol:

Overall, I'd say the changes are a great addition to your mod. Hopefully I'll get to see your next additions during my current playthrough!
