Ideas for rewards for the top three(?) cities at the end of each era
Some sort of reward for having a city in the top three at the end of each era is a good idea, but I'm not really sure what good rewards would be. Can't be really anything too dramatic, without risking it making the strongest even stronger; but if it's too weak then whats the point?

if you have any ideas for possible rewards post them in this thread to give me something to think about.

No promises that I'll implement any of the ideas, or even any type of rewards at all, but you never know....

Great people move to great cities? Voltaire=>Petersburg, Beethoven=>Vienna, ...

I def think there should at least be a tourism related buff. Maybe [+15, +10, +5] Tourism applied to city center? This is the greatest city in the world it's sure to attract attention.

I think +1 Amenity is something interesting to add. Maybe also add tourism buff like Silentshadow said before.

^ developer if you end up doing this, could you please make it optional? I dont want rewards, the game is already broken af & id prefer to just have this fun side tool for single player analysis

Some interesting ideas here! First, anything I do about rewards will definitely be optional, so don't worry if this isn't something you want.

This is what I'm thinking at the moment:

At the end of the Era the top three cites get the following for the rest of the game:
  • 1st Place: +2 tourism, +2 tourism at enlightenment, +4 tourism at flight; +1 amenity
  • 2nd Place: +1 tourism, +1 tourism at enlightenment, +2 tourism at flight;
  • 3rd Place: +1 tourism at enlightenment, +2 tourism at flight;

One city could get one or more of these multiple times (ie: 1st in the ancient era, 2nd in the classical era, 1st again in the modern era), in which case the bonuses would stack.

Additionally, if one of those top three cities also had the highest science\culture\gold\production\faith per turn, there could be bonus amount of the matching great person points. Either an amount per turn (say 1st:4, 2nd:2, 3rd:1) but only until the end of the next era, or a just one off amount based on the relevant yield - not really sure about this yet.

All of these rewards would apply to the AI as well to the human player.

Hey there, just wanted to say I love this mod and all the flavour and story-telling it brings to the table. I also agree that the bonus should probably not be too huge (even if optional) since it could create some snowball situations... And right now the value is more as something you feel nice for getting, and civ VI in particular lacks that (everything's too yield-focused imo, storytelling stuff for the sake of storytelling is great and important)

However, if you do want to give it a bonus, I feel it should be something that only affects the game for a little bit so it feels more like a little boost than a huge snowballing effect. I'm thinking that maybe something more fitting would be a World Congress Resolution called "World Heritage Sites", where you pick an Era and the Top 3 cities of that Era receive increased Tourism% and Great Person% generation or something.

Of course I havent dabbled myself into making custom resolutions so I have no idea how possible this actually is xD just throwing out ideas for fun.

(Or maybe instead of a resolution, a project that unlocks on Cities that got in the top 3 that does that while its produced... unlocked at Cultural Heritage, that way you still get something but to use it you gotta use some production)

I agree it should be tourism and great people points. Current proposal or Leugi's solution sounds fitting.
