How friendly fire works (game version 1.1 and later)
After poking around, and several people verifying (including info from PGI): the base game no longer allows AI lancemates to hurt allies. They couldn't hurt players previously. PGI also updates some logic to try to reduce how often AI end up wasting shots into backs of allies as well, so the friendly fire check is still a catch all for the edge cases that logic doesn't work.

This mod still prevents *players* from hurting allies, including each other. PGI left that team damage in intentionally, for funzies.

If someone does have 100% verified reproduction steps that show an AI lancemate hurting a player or each other, that'd be a bug report worth sending in. Of note though, if the damage is caused by mod weapons, that's outside the scope of PGI's fix and isn't caught by this mod necessarily either. (looking at you YAWM long toms)

Incorrect, I had a mission with Vanilla, All 6 DLCs, My Lancemates with PPC-X's nearly cored two of my mechs (that I swapped to) from shooting me in the rear. I doubt this is a bug, the only idea is that if other people are recording no damage, rather than no damage in vanilla, its is reduced damage, what again PPC-X are so absurd that it doesn't matter.
