Rods
Do the rods run out of fuel or is it for looks/fun. And if so does someone have a vehicle to get the rods when they are at the top of the sub to remove them then to put new ones in. Thanks

Well, the truth is, I don't know but I don't think it's for fun or luxury, besides that it is dangerous if it reaches a level of radiation just like the rods could melt ... and there is still no vehicle or boat that can replace it but you can use a helicopter to remove the obsolete rod and then with the help of a friend insert the new rod.

Don't worry I found a vehicle able to do it from the creator himself. I can manage to do it myself but I'm pretty sure it is for luxury. Thanks!

No, considering most people are on creative they shouldn't need to replace it, but I think its lasts for about 8 hours, although the longer left the more radiation produced. So you can be driving it and get radiated. This can be solved by removing and inserting the rods.

TL;DR 8 hours, reinsert if you start to get radiation.

With regards to the duration of the rods... I don't think they ever run out of fuel. Originally when the Devs built the Nuclear system they had finite fuel but that was removed. I decided to still build the system as "something to do".

With regards to vehicles/tools to help...
I've used my Lulu Skycrane and there is some screenshots in the Workshop page showing it being done -> https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2252882802

...and recently added an ENVIRONMENT MOD that re-adds a revamped version of the Creative Island Gantry crane -> https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3001487560
