Nightvision broken
Nightvision is broken now. While vanilla works perfect, makes things more visible, YAML night vision makes everything darker and green. I think the upgrade included many improvement performance and graphics wise, so the previous logic for night vision should be updated or ideally totally forgotten, because vanilla works perfecly.

In case screenshots are needed. I have them available.

I have the same issue but he Thermal vision is also screwed up. Try turning off your DLSS in the display settings tab. It didn't fix everything but it improved it a little for me.

Unfortunately, turning off DLSS didn't help. I think its a brightness related. It's happening on mars like environment planet, where its all red and dark. With YAML night vision, everything is even darker to the point its not usable. Vanilla night vision works like a charm. What I do is to switch to infra or I would not be able to aim properly.

Well that we have in common. The worst issues are present on the Mars environments.

Which are the Mars environments exactly?

I encountered this issue in biome iron oxide, evening. Its a dark red map, when I switch on night vision, everything goes so dark that its better to not use it or go to thermo. I have screeshots if needed.

Would probably help. I admit I dont use night vision much (predator vision ftw).
Both vision modes (the thermals and the updated night vision) are from Navid A1's Reloaded, and his nightvision usually gives better results than the vanilla.

I uploaded the pictures here:

It shows vanilla vs Navid A1's Reloaded and without any vision mod.

Yeah i agree, its weird that nightvision is in some cases even worse than regular vision.
More often than not, the landscape in the distance is well visible, but everything up close is pitch black, with weird glossy effects.
Would be nice if the Vanilla nightvision state could be restored (even if not perfect).
While thermal is unbeatable, the game kind of gets a bit boring (visually) when used all the time, so i try to switch it up

Exactly. I like to mix it up and in my opinion, vanilla nightvision is just purely superior. Modded nightvision can even pierce through mist, which is obviously nonsense.

Well the link shows nothing.
Ping me on MW5 Discord, easier that way.

Sorry, removed the content as I thought it was there long enough for everyone to see.

Increasing display brightness made it good for me.

I have the same issue.

Would be lovely to at least have a toggle to completely remove and revert the new nightvision back to the vanilla version as the new NV does nothing useful half the time I'd want to use it, and actively makes your vision WORSE the other half of the time. It's been very rare so far to find cases where it actually improves my ability to see things the way I'd expect night vision to work.

The vanilla unmodded NV wasn't perfect, but it at least almost always reliably improved your vision in dark environments.

The new NV often just casts surfaces in blackness and removes light levels even more instead of illuminating anything. On one mission in a dark moon environment (gray/white moon-dust terrain), all turning on the new NV did was turn the terrain pitch black and make it almost impossible to see anything at all. The only option to get through that mission was headlights or thermal at close range.

An options toggle to disable the new NV code would be great, or even maybe just making the default "N" key behavior a 3-way cycle between [Vanilla NV], [Navid A1's NV], and [Off]. Either would be great.

Exactly, option to use vanilla NV would be perfect. I'd love to use it instead of all the time relying on thermal or lights.
