Hi Xander. I'd love to make the mod work for Spanish, but unfortunately this is a one-man production, and I'm not fluent in Spanish. If there was a way for me to translate and then go on to update the mod with a Spanish version, I'd be happy to do it!

Yeah so i don't care that much if you can't put the mod in French but it would be nice to still have the flavor text , even if it's in english , havan't used it much but it seems to be cool

Hi Reyquad. What exactly would you like me to do to implement this? Sounds like it's doable!

Thanks for this mod. It is great and I kind of like it for it's rng nature and the possibility that one can die. I have been playing with duel mod for months now and I was never slain. Would appreciate if you could ramp up rng where there is a small chance for the character to die with certainty irrespective of prowess level. Something like unfortunate accidents in battle or a knight with low opinion not helping out in fight when needed or something like that.

Hi Mahesh. I like the idea of low opinion knights being useless or maybe even rivals that are knights allowing you to die, because it makes sense for someone who wishes to ensure your doom as a rival or disrespectful person to use the fray of battle as a means to get you killed. I'll certainly look into adding something like that.

I really like the idea for the mod and after using it I enjoyed it, but there are a couple suggestions I have based on the limited time I had with this mod:
1. At first the events were rather cool, however with how limited the number of different events that showed up for me, combined with how often they showed up meant they quickly became boring.
2. The first game I played after getting this mod was a Norse Count so that I could experience what this mod had to offer. With how dangerous the events I experienced were it didnt take long for my first character to die and then my second to run out of knights from raiding and expansion wars.

I suggest adding some small scale events that impact the battle by increasing or decreasing advantage by a small amount, or something else that might only have a minor and short-term effect. I also recommend making the event that can outright kills one of your knights much less common since it makes me feel punished for being a part of battles.

Hi SEXY EYES, that's exactly what I like to see, feedback like this really helps. I'll definitely look into populating the events list soon with more simplified and less life-critical events. I can see where playing as characters from cultures or religions where combat is a core survival mechanic can be difficult whilst some of the modded events can cause serious issues for you and your knights. Thanks again, I'll definitely take this into account for the next update!

yeah i dl the mod but quickly uninstalled it because of so many life-threatening events. keep in mind that the commander was the most protected person on the battlefield, there should be only a couple of events in which an assassin manages to sneak past your lines or a duel 1v1 after a challenge from a prominent nobleman knight or a commander of enemy army which would result in massive morale boost for the duel winning side. these should be rare af. certainly get rid of events like the "they have you 10 to one" and you get CRAVEN for begging for your life in such circumstances - not a really realistic standard. so id say - much, MUCH less life-threatening events, and abundance of minor events which increase or decrease your advantage - like some manuevers with units or prowess/diplomacy/martial challenges to rally your men, or when losing a martial challenge to form a last ditch attempt at fending of the enemy which can potentially overturn the battle if it isnt too much of a lost cause. anyways, cheers, if you implement those things, delete unnecessary events and massively decrease the chance of life-threatening events to commander ill gladly sub again. keep up with the good work, its very appreciated

Hi Suckston. I certainly know what you mean about the heavy consequences of some events, and the unlikelihood of some of them firing. After a lot of comments regarding the mod being too realistic in the sense that such events wouldn't happen enough (It was making the mod less fun), I tweaked it to increase the event firing chance. Like you mentioned, I'm actually working on populating the mod with more minor events to outweigh or at least humble the chances of the more threatening and extreme events from firing. Thanks for the feedback!

maybe you could make a sub-mod or another version which makes these life-threatening events very much unlikely? id certainly prefer it that way. but ofc its your mod. maybe you could tell me which files to edit to drastically reduce the chance of life-threatening events? anyways, ill be looking forward for changes, but wont be using this mod in its current state unless you could tell me which events to edit to make these dangerous events extremely unlikely. cheers

Hi suckston, if you go into the mod's files, go to betterbattles > events > betterbattles_events.txt, and then find on line 175 the start of the random event picker. The numbers there (Should be numbers like 2500, 250, 150, like that) are the chance of the event described after that number in the trigger_event command firing. For example, changing a bracket with the number 2500 to 1000 would mean the event triggered in the clause following the number is less than half as likely to fire. I have added comments which describe which of the event IDs are for which events, so once you find the events which are being a pain, just reduce that number a bit and you should see some improvement.

to follow up on this, please let me know which events you change the chances for, and what you change their chance numbers to. It'd help to see your perspective on what the chance numbers should be. Thanks!

For the death possibility chance. I think you should lower it because even if I have high prowess like 30 and 40 and that kind of area still die pretty easily and I think it is annoying a little.

Hi Ianrocks01. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. What I'm going to do in the update coming soon is that I'm going to scale the modifiers multipliers a lot more- this should make more logical sense so that the better characters are more likely to succeed, but the worse characters will be more likely to fail. Like you may have seen, I'm adding a bunch of new events in the coming update, which should in itself remedy the frequency of fatal events. Thanks for the feedback!
