I can’t grow grape plant
I want to be able to produce wine so I go to my growing zone to grow grapes but it isn’t an available option, I have all plants unlocked and can plant othered from the same research

You have to build the "Post", which acts as a support post, to let Vinyl plants grow more effectively

I tried this, but I get the error "Post requires terrain that supports: soil", even when i try to place it on soil.

Had the same thing happen, it seems like it's not permitting rich soil, only normal soil

Yeah can only use posts on regular soil, trying it on rich soil gives that "Post requires terrain that supports: soil" error message.
Sadly the majority of the dark forest map I'm in consists of rich soil...
Also the lichen-covered soil works just fine to put posts down on.
