also increased health, very resilient to stuns and knockdowns, increased base damage, but cannot scratch or bite, and increased size that is randomly selected on spawn, from 1.25x to 1.5x the size of the player
Once you do that, this mod would become super popular.
Im not 100% sold on the nemesis and banshee.
Nemesis could be just a tanky zombie with high health and persistence, but a zombie finding you through a map that you just cant kill normally? Feels a bit... artificial.
Banshee works well, but it shares the speed adn high dmg thing, that could be like an apex / hunter zombie, with the attraction that could be a boomer / screamer zombie.
I like the toxic idea of a zombie that infects your car and the immediate area instantly upon dying, like the Bloaters in State of Decay.
A sneaky hunter type of zombie that is smart enough to mess with you without putting itself in danger. It should be visually easy to tell him apart from the average zombie though, maybe make him a small hunched down looking guy, like he's constantly sneaking?
I'm not sure how much any of this is possible in current zomboid, but at the very least setting zombies one way should be doable, since you've already made a type of zombie who can chase you all over the map, and a type of zombie that emits a noise, you could probably combine those two things to make zombies go places. but I think the concept is nice, maybe with the new NPC character I've seen they're planning to add some of these AI behaviours wouldn't be too hard to put in?
This is a REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool idea. I love this. Would probably have to set a trap for him or something to kill him.
Banshee: I have set to rare and the spawn rate is solid especially considering they spawn Zombies and attract others. I'm wondering what is the spawn rate of Zombies they spawn, and is it changeable on my side?
The nemesis I also have set to rare but with invulnerability turned off. Probably going to turn them to normal spawn rate because while they are tougher are not terrible to deal with mid to late tier gear. Like you say, just a stronger regular zombie.
My suggestion "name pending", is a type of zombie that is a runner, can open doors but has less health and/or strength than normal zombies.
I like this idea because random zombie types is one way to ramp up difficultly but generally spawns way too many runners. The custom zombie mod is pretty buggy and unreliable. The spawn rates on these special zombies when set to rare is pretty fair imo... at least for banshee because spawning a horde around a player is pretty scary. Anyway a low spawn rate of a scary zombie Iike this could be a game changer as even 1 of them could make mowing down hordes of zombies a lot harder.
This suggestion comes from a PvE server. Running tough, saliva only, otherwise normal, no decomposition zombies. Its not easy especially for solo player but not impossible. I also have a skill journal mod that allows players to grow over multiple lives. So as someone who is interested in way to fairly bump the difficulty, especially for groups working together this mod is seriously clutch. The banshee are scary man.
Edit: I don't think the Banshees spawn Zombies after more testing. But it would be lit if they did.
A zombie that can shoot guns, shoots slowly and has a low detection radius. Only found with pistols, when they run out of bullets they can not reload. Rare.
A zombie with a grotesque mutated fist injures the player and can sometimes fracture bones just like falling would, but only attacks the player when provoked. however, if it finds it's way into a house it will destroy furniture. Rare
A zombie that runs as fast as the player can sprint, with a doglike movement, but has very low health and can only bite. Uncommon
Like the previous zombie, but can't attack the player and runs faster. Can steal 1 item that is equipped on the player's back, or in the offhand, and will try to run away. Very rare, tries to sneak up on the player.
extremely rare zombie with boney legs that can leap a few tiles to attack the player, weak to gunfire, also can bypass the default zombie fence climbing.
very rare zombie that drops from trees on top of players, cannot be seen in the trees, but can be avoided if the player sprints away while it's falling.
Fish zombie that has a 5% chance to spawn in front of the player while fishing. Has no legs, but can very quickly attack the player's legs.
a very rare zombie that acts like normal, but looks different from a normal zombie. When bitten by it, it gives the player a disease that is similar to the "hearty appetite" trait, but more unstable, which can be healed with regular consumption of vitamins before eating food.

Looks: a rocky looking body with hard skin with hands looking like giant rocks with spikes
Cons- Hunts at night, you'll never see it during the day because it hides in homes during the day.
Pros- It can infect you and turn you into a stalker. 100% chance for it to always bite you. during the night it follows you until the right moment and then chomp you're going to become a stalker! Has the best memory stats and has the best hearing stats. It has about 150 hp . And it screams like the banshee.
Maybe it could have a special skin?
I would like to make a suggestion based in my experience with mods. I think that could be possible and should not be that hard to implement. The problem though is about the server sync maybe.
Zombie: A screaming zombie.
How it would work: A normal zombie (random skins) with some different attributes, a bit more HP and the capability to scream (maybe use the make noise function/command)
What it would require: A zombie that uses a skill (command/function) and a actiou would happen after that, playing a sound file. A cooldown range between shouts will be needed ofc. Maybe it is possible to use part of the code of a car's horn? That all players can hear at the same time, do no.
Zombie: Skinny nightmare
How it would work: A special zombie (rarer) that can either rarely spawn or in specific areas (if that chunk spawn manipulation is possible). He would have a different skin (that's possible?) a skinny but dangerous creature that is weak and has lower HP but if he touches you, you will be 100% infected. Depending on how the games calculates the 100% chance of infection (if that's possible) it would be nice if it can break a part of your body, which one is easier to make.
What it would require: A really good modder hahaha
