Why can't I see how many of an item I have?
If I have two identical items in storage it only shows one of them, there is no number either. Is there a setting somewhere to let items such as weapons and equipment be shown all as separate entities on the storage menu? I remember that being an option in an older version but can't find it now

You're misremembering. Magic Storage has always visually combined "equivalent" items when displaying them in its UI.
