Is it possible to use this mod without tModloader?
I'd like to get Steam achievements with Terraria and also play using this very nice mod.

As of right now, Achievements and this mod are mutually exclusive? Thank you for your work, @Sky and @CrazyContraption.

Excellent Question!

Unfortunately, the process of us translating this to vanilla would basically require us to re-create tML itself in some format. We need some sort of loader to inject our mod's code into the vanilla game. I promise you that whatever we could muster to accomplish that would be 1000x worse than that of what tML already accomplishes.

As mentioned before in the comments, and for anyone else looking to do something similar to this, we require tModloader's mod API in order to load our mod into the game. There is no vanilla solution to do this without tModloader. As for steam achievements, this is on the roadmap for tModloader (with mods also being able to add achievements! hopefully).
