You are lucky, this is the second most important part of this mod :)
After city generation (including the locations you mentioned) is done, that will be the next step.
Thats awesome! Ive wanted a mod like this for such a long time. I love spending the early parts of the game scavenging and living in old run down buildings and finally being able to loot or set up base in a building that is based on something from real life like a hospital is so cool. Thanks for the hard work
What I can really see this is being something impactful that's still in the spirit of "This War of Mine". Imagine quests where you got to go save prisoners/slaves that are being held up, all while dodging other factions that are on the map fighting each other. IED explosives hidden in the cars, behind doors, in alleys, and more so players have to be careful and not just carelessly send their pawns running into places. Occasional bombardment from random shelling, or even reinforcements showing up on the map if the players take too long completing the objective on the map. Heck, maybe even well-placed turrets to keep you on your toes.
Essentially I kind of think it would be neat if the maps presented challenges that wasn't just "load up your most OP, bionic filled, juiced-up super soldiers and funnel the enemies into a narrow hallway and light them up.". The AI is going to be dumb and do that, but some well-placed terrain challenges can at least spice up the gameplay a bit more.
Well... as long as it's possible to do that of course.
I do really like this idea. However, in my mind, this might not be limited to just prisoners/slaves. I think there could be innocent bystanders or survivors who are neither prisoners nor slaves who just got caught up in the fighting between factions or something. For example, it could be a visiting caravan that's unable to find a safe path to flee (i.e., bombardment) and forced to take shelter, perhaps?
Also, while I do like the idea of these being quests, I wonder: Does it (always) have to be? Perhaps it could just be an event, such as a distress signal or maybe a rare event which triggers as soon as the player's forces visits a map?
Also, having windows is an important part of an urban combat i believe. Having windows from one of the window mods would liven up the city and add more tactical possibilities for alternative defenses, like creating ambushes
Since certain materials (uranium, modded ones such as flint) may not be available without mining or trading, you could have a "heavy shelling" event similar to the meteor shower. Either random chunks of metal or predefined structures that could be looted for those. You could have variations of these like a treatcherous unexploded shell, damaged supply drop, crashlanded military aircraft, etc.
Thank you so much for creating this incredible mod, and I cannot WAIT to see what additions you make!
