Mining Robot - To be set up in a specific area and mines for you, speed based on equiped drill, needs recharge often and empy storage once in a while when it's full

Yeah! But it can self-recharge so long as the "Charger" (Not sure if it's a block similar to the medical bay, or an item. If the second, it will come back, fill a few stacks, and return as soon as it knows it would have just 1 left), Maybe, since it's lighter, a soley-energy based jetpack? Since it's lighter than you?

What I want more than anything Keen has put out for the past 3 years is for bases and ships to be automatically populated by a random number of friendly, neutral, or hostile NPCs. This could be dependent on the size of the grid and only rendered when you are close enough. They could have tasks or just simply patrol the area. This would certainly make the game more lively at the very least. I imagine ships would be an issue here due to NPC physics (which I know nothing about) but even seeing an NPC in a cockpit would be more immersive than these drones that we are currently limited to.

I have recently found the Agaris at War mod which has got me finally picking the game back up after months of inactivity. But I felt something was still missing. As I traveled around and discovered the various bases scattered through the planet I sill felt lonely exploring the empty halls, shops, kitchens, and bunk-rooms and launching assaults against bases with nothing but auto turrets and unmanned drone ships only to find no retaliation upon breaking through the doors. Then I found this mod and was pleasantly surprised that someone managed to break through keen's hard coded NPC content (or honestly lack of content) and am now very excited to see the community finally introduce what Keen failed to address.

There is no life in Space Engineers. This is (in my opinion) Keens greatest flaw in developing this game.

I hope to see this mod grow and maybe inspire other creators to flesh out the games lack of characters and creatures. I am in the early stages of learning C# and injecting custom blocks into the game. I am no where near ready to make my dreams for this game reality, but maybe soon I can contribute something.

That would be amazing too see!

Maybe integrate it with MES also, replace the stupid dumb looking Remote Control block (the purple/red ones from RivalAI) and have NPCs sit in the cockpits of ships - if they crash and do survive, let them wander around and shoot you when you get to close...

The game just needs to be more alive and it would be perfect! And I think this mod is the first big step towards it

I thought about that too! That would be so cool if NPC's exited the cockpit after a crash that disabled their vehicle. Another thing I was thinking about is drop ship random encounters that drop off a squad of pirates or enemy troops. I'm super excited to see what happens

There is already a addon for MES which does that, called "Raider Drop Pods" - it's mentioned in the other discussion about MES integration
