Team Fortress Classic Rocket Launcher?
It looks like this awesome model was based on the rocket launcher from Team Fortress Classic. Anyone else think so?

This, The assault cannon, pseudo nailgun and the cosmetics in that set are all references to Team fortress classic. I believe he is making them for all classes.

Well if you look at this and the rocket launcher from Black Mesa they kind of look the same.

It's actually a mixture of inspirations from TFC and HL1, according to his posts on Facepunch.

Yeah, I think so but i didn't realize this was similar to the TFC version becouse TFC's rocket launcher had a rocket sticking out of the barrel.

Actually, it would make sense when the set is named The Veteran, so this would be just a reskin of the default rocket launcher and description probably: "Older than you think..."?

TFC and HL1 used the same rocket launcher models.
Also, Black Mesa is a HL1 remake.

Hmm...Anyone remember that Team fortress originated from a quake 1 mod?This looks kinda sorta like the rocket launcher in that game,but then again,the original looked alot more like that.

@Mega Marowak The Original is a direct reference to QUAKE's RL. It's held the same, and the barrel is very similar. :spycon:

Maybe hes making models for valve since the last TF2 comic contained the TFC classes,
and each comic/comic series for TF2 often ends in an update.

Probably not, given that Valve would want to keep stuff like this hidden until the update came out. Although Svdl has done promotional work in the past...
