Report a translation problem
For anyone in the future who encounters this, it has a fix. It involves XML-style file editing so I hope you're comfortable with that.
Close the game.
Navigate to the save that is afflicted with the problem. This is in %appdata% > Space Engineers > Saves > [your steamID]
Take a backup of the save.
Open the sandbox.sbc file.
Then search for or find "<MyObjectBuilder_Identity>"
Find the one that is for the player(s) being affected.
Delete the contents of the element and its tags (each entry of <[MyObjectBuilder_Identity]> and </[MyObjectBuilder_Identity]>)
Repeat for each player afflicted.
Save the file
CLOSE the file.
Reload the save.
The players that you did this for will be prompted to pick a faction again and respawn.
