I know this is more of a new way to play versus a "cheaty" mod (take that with a grain of salt who the ♥♥♥♥ cares if you cheat in a singleplayer game) but I feel like the ability to choose which pools the items come from would be nice. Or at least have them be from the boss pool (but to be honest, that pool has a lot of very similar items.) But without having access to consistent boss room items, stat ups are much harder to come by.

I guess that's the balance of this and this isn't supposed to be a mod similar to like the "more options at start" mods, but I figured I'd leave the suggestion nonetheless.

Oh you're fine. I was thinking of adding that but didn't really know if people would care a lot, but now that you added that I do plan to add the functionality to choose the itempool it's pulled from. I'll have it default to the boss. Thanks for posting, expect an update within the week.

Alright. Should be added. Please tell me if it is to your liking and if it works properly.

Yeah, I absolutely love it! Makes it feel like a nice alternative to the "more options" kind of mods but without affecting treasure rooms, I really like it. One thing I want to know, I assume the individual item pool option is that each choice is from a different randomly selected item pool, while the overall item pool option is that each choice is from the same randomly selected item pool? I think that's how it works I just wanted to make sure.

Yeah, so random individual item pool means that for each option a random itempool is pulled from for each one, this is very similar but in certain cases may yield different results and weighted/balanced items compared to universal item pool. Random overall item pool chooses a random item pool for all options to be pulled from.

So yes, you are right.

Hey, first off, thank you so much. The old one was my all-time fav Isaac mod, and I played it to wind down whenever I died in some frustrating way. I really missed it when it broke.
Does this mod disable unlocks? If not... could it? Having the old mode limited to a challenge meant that you could play "consequence-free", which I appreciated.

It doesn't, but I think you have a valid suggestion/desire so I'm working on adding a config. option to disable unlocks/achievements.
I'm also adding in some other additions as well so it might take a bit longer than expected.
Thanks.

I pushed an update. I can't really reliably test if it works properly or not since I have everything unlocked and the bypass to the restriction. Please test it and tell me how it works for you.

Thanks.

Any plan for some integration with greed/greedier mode?

The original draft mode mod never had any sort of integration, so I have no ideas on how it'd realistically work in greed mode and still be balanced with the mode
Not against it but never really thought about it
I can look into it though if it's desired

As far as balance goes the mod already pretty much throws game balance out the window deoending on what the players do with the settings.

Greed/greedier integration would certainly be another toggle if players want the extra functionality.
Personally i love drafting an extra item per floor and imo this would be a great addition to greed/greedier mode.

yeah.. you can make the game easy hard or just keep it at its normal balanced settings

Yeah but how exactly would it work and be balanced?
That's what I have to think about before making it

I'm not sure I understand what the concern is, exactly? The same balance issues/concerns for non-greed mode would be in greed mode as well right? Players pick whether or not they want to choose extra items. Any semblance of balance would be defined by end-user configs.

Do you mean how could there be counters in effect (like no boss/treasure room spawns)?
The obvious would be to eliminate the item room and secondary item room spawns (each with their own toggle).

Yeah, basically I was concerned with how the mode would be changed by adding a draft element. Those aren't bad ideas at all, so thanks.
But, for your first point, even though users can config to whatever their likings may be, you should still have a baseline that people can see a semblance of balance in. Anyways, those are good ideas so I'll start looking into it.
