You also mentioned that the 'converted' wildwoman's name was pink; do you happen to know what mod turns the name pink? I'm feeling it might be doing other faction interactions that the Corpse Children mod is not currently aware of.

That right there shows what I know. On the left, a dead wildwoman (and the horrifying chimera that murdered her). Not one I'd want to keep, but she'll do for bug hunt purposes.
Highlight in red, her name and background.
On the right, what I get after turning her into a colonist. Note the RoM mark in the colonist bar of her as having a martial class. And the lack of display below. Funny thing is... she didn't have a martial class identified when alive.
Also note her name in the colonist selection bar is pink- which all wildmen are, rather than white or red like colonists or enemies are, respectively.
Oh, and something else I noticed. Whenever a new corpse child is created, it's in effect an entirely new colonist. I have a save from right after I killed the WW, and when reloading to double-check and the like... the colonist created from the corpse is different every time, with different names and history and tattoos. The only things that seem to stay consistent are traits, skin color, genes, and sex.
I am assuming that's a limitation of the game rather than a bug, however.
