Corpse Children

Psylink corpse pawns
Is it your intention that pawns with psylink cannot be raised as corpse children or is this just an incompatibility with the DLC that has never been amended? The game uses the implant system and the psylinks are a type of brain implant which the code would by default prohibit conversion.

Do you have a feeling about how to handle this? Like we could allow the corpse children to be raised with psy implants but maybe all corpse children could start out psychically deaf or dull.

Thoughts?

It was intentional, yeah! A corpse child's innate ability to hotwire a corpse into a new form was intended to be completely disrupted by the presence of any foreign body. Of course, things like Humanoid Alien Races (especially androids) and then Biotech made things all kinda funny there.
I originally was thinking to add a reclamation mod that could strip implants out of corpses (or even plug organs/limbs back in) so they could become viable, but I liked how the former was handled by Reclaim, Reuse, Recycle and so never went there.

RRR is great.

So how do you want to handle psylinks? They're being regarded as a foreign implant and preventing reanimation. That seems like an unintended interaction.

Androids probably need to be blocked completely because that's just weird. HAR ... is complicated. might be best to limit it for the sake of sanity.

I was thinking maybe let people reanimate corpses with implants but the implants end up being 'busted implant' and are a malus and have to be removed.

I keep edging towards some kind of thing that lets you use a surgery table to perform operations on corpses. reattach limbs, install organs etc. some real frankenstein stuff floating around up there.

if I do it right it'll dovetail with CC, but also I was thinking of other ways to reanimate. I tried that undead thralls mod but it's vastly op which is kind of fun sucking.

I found - a hilarious interaction. I haven't figured out how this is possible but if you remove the visible psylink hediff and raise a corpse child.. well... you should do it. I don't want to spoil it.
