Game hangs on Chosen kill
Please help, I am unable to finish the mission here because game hangs with multiple red screen errors.

First, upon launching the game from ModLauncherWPF I am greeted with multiple red screen errors:

Those didn't bother me much, cause they did not crash the game.

Then I was running Defend the Relay mission where Chosen Hunter appears for the first time. Mission objectives are to eliminate all enemies, so the Chosen has to be defeated. However, when I reduce his HP to 0, the following errors appear:

Attempting to resume UITimer with no active gamestate
ModifyStateObject called with a specified ObjectId of '0' forclass 'None - this is an invalid argument!
Stack:

The stack is empty. Then, two more error messages appear:
Failed to play animation FF-Fire on XComAlienPawn_35 as part of X2Action_PlayAnimation_3
ActionX2Action_PlayEffect Plot_TWN_Mixed_LgObj_11_LW.TheWorld:PersistentLevel.X2Action_PlayEffect_2 detected a time out, which will likely result in a hang! Use X2DebugVisualizers to inspect the visualization tree and locate the time-out action.

I have installed the latest steam version of the base game last week, so it has to be up-to-date. Can anyone suggest a solution? Tried playing around with mods, but it appears that all that is required is installed, and turning off any of the required mods does not allow to launch the game at all.

UPD. 1: "Nuclear option" from the FAQ didn't help, still getting the same errors.

UPD. 2: Launching the game with only 4 required mods (Long war of the chosen + Highlander & Alien Hunters plug-in + Better second wave mod support) produces the same results. Disabling Better second wave mod support crashes the game on launch.
