DSD (Driver Saftey Device)
- The driver safety device is a active driver readiness safety system with its main job being to stop the train in the event of a incapacitated driver (in real life) however in stormworks will be likely to stop afk drivers. The system can optionally be isolated which I personally advise against unless you are a new driver to these type of trains or on longer trips. The system will send a test alert when the reverser is put in forward or backwards, failure to acknowledge any DSD warnings within 6 seconds will result in control lock and instant emergency brake application. This can be reset by pressing the DSD acknowledgment button. The DSD warning is best described as a higher pitch rapid sounding buzzer. When in normal use, the DSD will randomly send alerts while the train is in motion and not isolated with the cab in use, again failure to acknowledge within 6 seconds leads to emergency brake application. These alerts are intentionally clamped between every 120 to 240 seconds (2 to 4 minutes).

GSM-R DSD (Global System for Mobile Communications - Railway Drivers Saftey Device)
- The GSM-R version of DSD is another safety system installed on this train however has been modified slightly to be more practical in game. This is a passive safety system, it’s adapted to act as more of a runaway train protection system using the occupation of the driver seat as its input. If no driver is present after 30 seconds when not isolated (optional thing during normal operation) will play a slightly lower tone longer timed buzzer alarm distinctive of the regular DSD audible alarm. After 30 seconds you can reset the alarm with the regular DSD acknowledgment button hence DSD in the name and sitting down in the driver seat. If the system does not detect a driver in 60 seconds, emergency brake will be applied and then bring the train to a stop. Again this can be reset with the same acknowledgment button and sitting back down. If the system does not reach 30 seconds you can automatically reset the clock by simply sitting back down.

Other systems

DRA (driver reminder appliance) - Another safety device in place, this is a dead switch which will kill the throttle when applied, this is to be used when planning to be stationary for a period of time.

Opposite cab master switch theft protection - A theft and hijacking protection system aimed at disabling the controls of the opposite cab while the true driver cab is in use, the throttle and reverser are disabled and do not have a affect on the train.

Auto SDO - a device used in automatic doors, will not open a certain door if no platform is detected on the chosen unlocked door. This can be overridden in the driving cab.

WSP - This train is fitted with wheelslip protection which will reduce the throttle when wheelslip is detected to compensate, this system can be overridden.
