P.I.D.S V2
Passenger Information Display System version 2

This is a major upgrade to the basic passenger information display used in my Class 334, X’Trapolis 100 unit (currently owned by gear shifter) and my class 158. They were basic and was multiple fixed scrolling lua text microcontrollers. In PIDS v2 you can customise the program to display your destination, next stop, current stop and also the other stations you intend to stop at. This new system is integrated on the Class 220 so some text is personalised specifically to this train. The need for a new upgrade was planned as early as the class 334 V1,

The brand new system has a interactive menu, as showcased in 11th screenshot. The driver uses 2 keypads, one to enter a service number and the other the to enter the selected station. The driver also has 2 composite panels (one of them sharing the left door unlocks). If you have less than 3 stations entered the train will be marked as an express service and will display on the front and rear facing monitor.

You must have cab master to turn on the PIDS system. If you do not have a service number entered the train will state on all its monitors it is not in service. If you have any service number entered greater than 0 this does not happen. If you have more than 3 stations entered the train will display the name of the last station you entered.

On the same composite panel you enter stations into the system, you can also cycle through the list of stations entered, you can then delete the selected station however if you add a station it will add it towards the end of the list. The aim of the cycle function is to allow the driver to display what station is next when using the announce features. To enhance game performance, the side monitors on the train do not turn on unless the respective doors are unlocked. They turn back off when the doors are locked.

When you announce the next stop it will display this message on the internal monitors (using example stations):
“This is T. Spycakes, this train is for T. Endo, the next stop is Donkk Village.”

However if you announce next stop at your destination it will display:
“This is T. Endo, where this service will terminate, please take your personal belongings.”

If you press the announce approach button it will display:
“We are now approaching Donkk Village, please mind the gap when alighting from this train.”

Just remember to select the station first before pressing these buttons.
