I’m open to adding content to expand this mod more, any suggestions are welcome.

Cluster abandoned habitats in systems with Tomb Worlds, or with abandoned Megastructures (but maybe not the Dyson Sphere if that prevents it from being restored? dunno.)
Not sure about having that spawn randomly. I may try added a few custom systems that have various odds and ends in them (currently beyond my ability to get into at this time)

Set the system habitat shipset as a system variable before adding habitats, and build all habitats in that system with that style. That puts the list of styles in one place for easier editing, and it makes debugging easier.
These habitats are spawned via a series of game start events, and the graphics are chosen randomly based on a given list.
I'm hoping to figure out a way to have Habitats from mod authors spawn if a user has that mod.
Currently is one wants to spawn Habitats from a ship-set I can post a discussion post how to do so.

There could be more kinds of blockers, perhaps one which reduces habitability ("Disused Life Support") or reduces trade value ("Rusty Dockyard").
This is what I am currently working on. (will post a sticky soon about whats added.)

It'd be really cool to have some custom digsites on abandoned habitats. Might be too much work though.
I had not even thought of this. However as this is just a Hobby and my starting goal was to update, and add a few deposits, and share here to play MP games.

Yeah, custom systems sounds great.

Thoughts:

- If Gigastructures is installed, maybe systems around a single ruined Megastructure, like several mining Habitats around a single ruined Equatorial Shipyard, or some energy & gas extractor Habitats around a planetary CPU.

- Savage Starborn (tomb worlds, several habitats, pre-sapients on one habitat) -- plot is the species destroyed itself, but several members remain on one habitat, though they've fallen to savagery. Or maybe they're the evolved pets of the original species, like that one cat from Red Dwarf.

- Abandoned Experiment (wormhole-linked isolated system, Gaia world, several abandoned habitats, and a ruined Science Nexus) -- there are hostile armies on the Gaia world.

- Yin and Yang (binary black hole + regular star, broken matter decompressor on the black hole, Relic world around the regular star, several habitats) -- strong guardian, this shouldn't be available too early.

There is a mod that already does this and I'm working to keep them compatible
