Some suggestions of improvement for Cao Cao and Yuan Shang

I’m Chedan, a streamer of this game.

Recently I went through the beta version of your mod with faction Liu Bei, Zhang Liao and Yuan Shang. According to my own game experience and the reaction of audience during the live, I list some suggestions. Hope the Chibi mod can be better and better!

Cao Cao

Cao Cao is very strong in the start game. We can't deny that Cao Cao is very powerful in 207 in history, but in game we can use some external way to weaken Cao Cao in disguise, rather than directly give Cao Cao a debuff. The specific methods are suggested as follows.

1) We can give the region of Yinchuan to the Han Empire faction, with leader Liu Xie. The Empire Group can be established with the Han Empire as the core, the master. The members of this Empire Group are the same of the members of the current Cao Cao group. All members in this Empire Group share the income according to the vanilla setting. And the vassal factions of Cao Cao can get more income. The game experience will be better after this change. Cao Cao himself will get income restrictions, which will weaken him in a disguised way in the early stage, making Yuan Shang, Tadun and Liu Bao have a chance to breathe.

2) The Imperial Favour. Liu Xie is now the emperor, that is, one of the three emperors. In this way, the Imperial Favour System, I think, can be cancelled, because no matter which faction the player plays, it is impossible to deliberately lose in a war to obtain the points of Imperial Favour. This thing is disgusting now.

3) Cao Cao must declare war with more factions, as initial setting, such as Liu Bei and Liu Biao. Although Liu Biao did not start war with Cao Cao in 207 in history, we can do this for the better gameplay. In this way, when we play Cao Cao, we will feel stretched. Players must choose which faction to suppress and defend against, instead of killing Yuan in a few rounds and then nothing to do in beta version.

Yuan Shang

This faction is too difficult. There is only one way I can think of to control the situation. We should catch the place where Cao Cao recruits in each round, and then destroy Cao Cao's new armies in the stronghold in the next round to seize the occupied settlement. Sometimes we need to destroy two or three full armies in one round, this experience is not good for ordinary players. Here are my suggestions:

1) Raise the level of Yuan Shang. Rankup Yuan Xi to rank 6 so that he can get night battle; Rankup Yuan Shang to rank 4. Give Yuan Shang a strategist. I think a rank 4 random character is enough, so he will have much less pressure in the early stage. The unlucky child is so poor.

2) Background Income. There is too much difference between the income and cost of construction. First of all, there can be no background income, but to regain the background income cannot rely on buildings. You can regain them by occupying regions such as Ye, Bohai, Anping and Zhongshan. As a factional effect, each city gives 25% of the background income.

3) The combat effectiveness of the army. As Yuan Shang always needed to fight less and win more, and it was particularly difficult to win, it was suggested to reduce the background income and improve the combat effectiveness of the army at the same time.

Change the buff to:

Background Income - 100%,
Melee Damage + 40%
Melee AP Damage +40%
Missile Damage +40%
Missile AP Damage +40%

When each of the four main regions is obtained, 25% of the background income is obtained., and at the same time, the melee damage, melee ap damage, missile damage, missile ap damage are reduced by 10%.

In this way, players need to choose whether to be in debt and maintain the determination of the army, or get the family foundation and have more soldiers with ordinary combat effectiveness.

In the future, I will play more factions of Chibi. I will summarize the problems that need to be improved and give you feedback according to the experience.

Cao Cao is too strong, has many vassals but declares war not much, making me a bit boring personally. I think it's a good idea to start the campaign with some historical events pushed up early.

- Southern Xiongnu against Cao Cao, the leader should be Huchuquan instead of Liu Bao.

- Ma Chao + Han Sui alliance against Xiahou Yuan.

- Zhang Lu against Liu Zhang.

- Liu Bei + Liu Biao alliance against Cao Cao.


I don't know if the author is interested in further fiction, for example:

- The Shi Hui faction was replaced by the Nanyue rebel, leader by Lady Trieu (MTU) and against Shi Xie. In fact, the rebellion happened in 225 against Sun Quan, not the Shi clan.

- XuHe Yellow turban became Wako bandits and moved to the coastal area between Zhang Liao, ZangBa, Sun Quan.

- Goguryeo bandits (maybe used resource Yan Baihu faction) against Gongsun Kang...

Some of my suggestions, the wars will be very hectic.
