Distillary production: 1 sugar + 1 grain + 1 water = 1 Alcohol?

When I supply a distillary with sugar + water or with grain + water, it works as intended. If, however, I supply a distillary with sugar + grain + water, it seems to produce 1 alcohol from 1 grain + 1 sugar + 1 water.
Is that normal?
