I also think you should include the option for factions in your main mod since it was really cool for you to do that.
Yep, did that with the main mod along with the update for 3.4, it's all there.
The code seems to suggest only the localisation and icon need changing, as it appears to use the emex-less naming convention, however, I did not look through every file so there could be possible points where the naming convention is amiss.

The robotic workers policy is not shown in the policy tab, so the spiritualist faction has a permanent -5 approval on their "empty shell" agenda point for allowing robotic workers.
