Modular Armor is working fine, just displays a bit odd
Hey there, I'm having a problem with modular armor. First noticed it running a Hunchback, when it's RT armor got stripped way too fast, and started taking structure damage. Then after the mission I checked and sure enough it still had the points from the modular armor, they were just being bypassed entirely by the damage.

To test it, I modified a Phoenix Hawk to have zero armor in the front, arms, and legs, then put modular armor on it to provide the armor. Then I ran it until its CT armor was stripped, left the mission, and here are the results:

Admittedly I shouldn't have used a hero mech, but I can confirm it did the same thing with a normal Hunchback. You can see that the PXH still has all 32 armor on the CT from the modular armor Mk. IV, but it had lost 2 points of structure already (since it would normally be at 38 due to the +10 armor from the Phoenix Hawk Hero Endurance quirk).

Upon further testing, I'm wondering if the issue is that armor added by modular armor is not subjected to the same repair requirement when damaged in mission. Or to put it another way, armor provided by modular armor which is lost in a mission is effectively automatically repaired for free as soon as the mission ends.

If that's the case, it would lead to it looking like the mech still has armor over a breached section which is taking structural damage, making it appear as if the modular armor is doing nothing after the mission, when it actually is when in-mission.

yes, mod armor is added on top of the standard armor on mission start and when entering the mechlab. Currently I see no easy way to handle damage taken to modular armor in the mechlab. See it as being automatically repaired after each mission.

Right, that makes sense, just wasn't intuitive when first looking at the results after a mission. But thanks for clearing it up!
