Projectile damage bug

There is a bug with projectiles where getting hit by the same projectile again and again multiplies the damage you take by 10/11x, causing damage taken to become obscene without warning.

I have tried this with no other mods, so this is not a mod conflict, nor is it Calamity defense damage.
