XCOM 2
Proficiency Plugin : Gunslinger v1.5
Underpowered
I love the flavor of this class, but at the moment I think it's just too weak compared to the other Proficiency options. The claymore's underwhelming at best and the pistol abilities don't offset how little damage it does. The Deadeye ability also just doesn't work and doesn't seem to do any extra damage, but even if it did, by the time the midgame hits Gunslinger falls behind the other classes completely.

The class is also at odds with itself with its core line of abilities giving you buffs if you Run and Gun or buffs if you stand still, but not both. It feels more like a specialized skill tree rather than something that can always benefit the Gunslinger's playstyle. The bonuses are also just not worth it when the midgame comes because, again, even with special ammo and crit shots, you won't do enough damage to meaningfully take down enemies and you have to be close enough to take a beating in return that it's not worth it. If you want a close-range brawler, the Assault Infantry's better. If you want an explosives expert, the Sapper, SPARK, Reaper, or Tech Specialist are all better. I've also got the Combat Engineer, and that also blows the Gunslinger away.

Like I said, a very flavorful class and I like the idea of it, but it's just not worth using, at least on Commander. Every other options in the core Proficiency pack does what the Gunslinger does but better. I'd suggest upping the progression a little, since the other classes get some fairly big buffs as they go from rank I > II > III, while the Gunslinger's are minor in comparison. Maybe make his core line give him straight aim/crit/dodge buffs and make the focus on stationary shooting or run-and-gun part of his other trees.

Just my suggestions. Like I said, love the flavor of the class, it just doesn't hold up against the other Proficiency class choices.

You're missing Gunslinger's big balancing features. The class is built for action economy, with Quickdraw, Run&Gun, LightningHands, FanFire, Reposition & Face-Off, it has significantly better Action Economy than any of the base Proficiency classes.

Also, if you haven't noticed it's damage is heavily based on Crits.
After playing some more with it, yeah, I'm seeing its strength now, especially with upgraded weapons. I think I judged it too quick.

As for it's bonuses being more situational, it's built more to play in a kind of 'move to flank-stop in cover-move to flank' style, so you can keep as many of the bonuses up as possible.

I'll take a look into the Pistol DeadEye issue you reported.
The infinite claymore and fixed Deadeye definitely make the class significantly better while still being in line with the rest of the Prof. classes. Thanks!

Infinite in this case means like conventional weapons are lol, not infinite charges. Ofcourse if a Gunslinger rolls Highlands in their perk list, they get extra charges.
I gotcha, I gotcha. Yeah, as I've gotten into the later game Gunslinger's REALLY started to shine.
