I'm glad you played this mod.
I fixed the bugs and re-write cards' text you mentioned.
The cards preview bugs is what I know.
By default, preview card opens for only 1.
Please give me a time to think about it, maybe I will start to read other StS mod's patch.
The Yellow/Green grow color means the card effects powerfully.
If it's Natura cards, maybe you have Naterran Great Tree.
I hope you will play the fixed version!
Otherwise, the Downfall mod's solution was seemingly to make a .gif which cycles through artwork. This isn't ideal for a couple reasons but would be fine for simple cards like Roy's.
The mod is great and interesting although I have only done a few runs.
I suggest a way to pick what crafts you would like from the beggining to try and get used to them one by one instead of a different one each run, The Animator mod has a similar option if you wanna see an example.
Thanks for your work
- Armored Bat is not recognized as a Machina card.
- Autoblade hits an extra time for each other Machina card in hand and seems to get another extra hit if you played a Machina card before itself.
Smol oversight:
- Seox is a Skill, exploitable with Pen Nib. Make it an Attack or change it to HP loss.
Identifying classes:
I trust you're going to subtly change the color of all card borders and/or card text boxes so they match with their compendium tabs. If you have never played Shadowverse, it's impossible to conclude which class a card belongs to if it doesn't do something typical for its class. The Aigis mod does this and it's both helpful and elegant.
"Tribes" like Natura and Machina:
You could add this tag to the top or bottom of the artwork instead. The Runesmith mod does something similar with its Enhance mechanic. This way you don't really need tooltips for them either since having such a tag does nothing by itself.
More eigo jouzu things featuring Portalcraft;
Artifacts:
Curious coincidence, isn't it? You could leave this tag as is and hope that players learn to distinguish it from the artifact buff which prevents a debuff.
Alternatively, and the ccg players won't like this, you take a leap and rebrand this to "Antique". It's not quite the same but it's similar enough that it keeps the flavor.
Finally, the Downfall mod's playable Champ figured out how to recolor keywords, so you could simply make this tag and keyword violet. I would also do this for cards that fetch or generate cards from a specific class.
Resonance:
Brilliant. This is how I would implement Vengeance too. If you want the tooltip to sound more natural: "Draw pile contains an even number of cards." More stiff but shorter: "Even number of cards in draw pile."
Note: I'll put a 🟣 in place of Artifacts because idk what you'd like to do with this tag.
- Ab. Modesty: "Turn end: Deal 15 damage to a random enemy for each unique 🟣 played (this combat or that turn?)."
- Ab. Tolerance: Costs 1 less for each Attack you have played while holding this.
- Ameth: Good example of how much space you can save by introducing another keyword. Compare this to "Sharpen a card in (your) hand by 3." Like, if you've seen one Sharpen card (or whatever you name it), you've seen half the others already.
- Augment: "Whenever you play an 🟣 this turn."
- Bearminator: You know, you could probably shorten NGT to just Great Tree and keep Naterran in the card's name only.
- Biofabrication: Clarify if the discount is for "this turn" or "until played". This matters since the order of effects makes it look like the copies get discounted. Assuming it's only for the original: "Shuffle 3 copies of an 🟣 into your draw pile. The one in hand costs 1 less this turn."
- Calamity: This would immensely benefit from a multi-card preview since it's hard to believe its steep cost actually pays off in the end.
- Enervating: See Flauros.
- Focus: "If you end this turn with unspent energy."
- Icarus: I was pedantic earlier because it's technically "shuffle into", but perhaps this is obvious enough that you can leave it as "add to".
- Illganeau: Just "Next turn, add Illganeau to your hand."
- Iron Staff: Forgot the card preview.
- Karula: See Focus.
- Licht: This turn or this combat?
- Lishenna: I think this is a case where the card is so wordy that you should make it put other cards in play without actually playing them (cuz velvet choker and time eater).
So like: "If you have played 15 cards or more: Activate [name of Power card in preview].
30 or more: Activate [name of other Power card] as well."
- Magisteel: Odd. I swear its card preview works outside the compendium.
- Magna: "Deal 10 damage to all enemies. Resonance: Repeat twice."
- Maisha: "Deal damage equal to 4 times the number of cards played this combat. (Sum including Vulnerable etc. in brackets.)" Using "equal to" here to make it clear it's one hit so it only benefits from Strength and stuff once.
- Omniscient: See Reaper.
- Orchis: "Puppets deal 6 more damage this combat."
- Paradigm: Technically you can manually discard this. So, does this get discounted outside your hand too? Anyway: "Play either Barrier+, Keenedge+, or Airstrike+." You can once again keep "Artifact" in their names on the cards themselves if you really want.
- Ralmia: See Absolute Modesty.
- Safira: For your info, you can make card text extremely short if this appeals to you:
"+6 for each 🟣 played this combat."
- Shion: See Ameth. "Sharpen/Enhance/Empower/Whatever 🟣 by 3 for the rest of combat."
- Silva: "card this combat." I didn't say "for the rest of combat" here because I made an exception for Shion to really drive it home that Shion is a type of continuous aura.
- VP Noah: See Orchis.
- Yuwan: Is there a good reason this doesn't just shuffle the card back into the pile?
- Zwei: I sorta like how "Gain unblocked damage dealt as Block." fits within 2 lines. Just gotta cut "and", then reformat a little so everything fits into 5 lines instead of 6.
Runecraft
Earth Sigil:
You can save tons of space here. Format like Earth Sigil (-All / +2) and explain via tooltip
You can still do things like Earth Sigil (+1, then up to -2) without needing to clarify that this works differently than the tooltip.
Spellboost:
Similar to Resonance and Vengeance. Since it has a tooltip, you can insert it as is.
- Anne: "20 more for each Mysteria card played this combat."
- Daria: So like I said: "Exhaust all your hand. Draw 5 cards. Spellboost: Costs 1 less until played." Same thing with Fiery Embrace below.
- Fiery: "Spellboost: Costs 1 less." or "Cost -1." so it fits in one line.
- Geoelementist: "to your hand."
- Kyoka: See Ameth from Portalcraft.
- Maiser: "to u your" Also needs a card preview like most of Swordcraft.
- Star Reader: Do you mean Shadowverse class or any color like Foreign Influence?
- Tetra: Lotsa text. You could tweak the numbers on this and/or Delta Cannon to cut the first line, but for now: "a Machina card" and "gain [E][E] and 2 Delta Cannons."
1. Meus Knight (created by the Meus Princess) did not increase damage after playing a great tree.
2. Had a case the game crashed after playing Apotheosis, it happened only once, I used Chrysalis that combat and had a deck of Blood/Dragon/Haven so it may be one of the skills there that caused the crash.
- Neun(+?) gives you triple Block even if there's nothing to Exhaust.
Smol oversights:
- Azi again: I forgot to ask if the discount resets when played. Otherwise, I made a mistake using "have played" instead of simply "play while holding this."
- Jormungand is Attack damage. Either clarify or make it HP loss.
- Miranda: See Jormungand and Seox.
Note on Non-Vengeance:
If you need space, you can skip this like so: "Lose 1 HP unless Vengeance: Gain 5000 Block."
Correction, if I play it too fast, it won't get it's cost reduction. Namely if I play it, then play another card that results in it coming back and play it before the animation changes the cost, it's cost returns to normal.
One of them being De La Fille, Gem Princess
01 Sage Commander+ Still Exhausts.
02 Aenea's Machina Fetch doesn't work.
03 Genesis Dragon does not mention it in the card text, but when played it is removed from the rest of combat.
04 Niyon, Mystic Musician is an attack instead of a skill, is Uncommon even though it has the ability to stun an enemy, and deals 8 flat damage regardless of upgrades and strength even though the card does not mention dealing damage. Also it is 0 cost when upgraded, even I think it needs nerfed.
05 Noa, Primal Shipwright's upgraded form shows no change but in fact increases it's damage by 3 each card instead of the unupgraded 2 per card.
06 Yuwan, Dimensional Avenger does not state how many Analyzing Artifacts it adds to your hand. Seems to be one.
07 ?afira, Synthetic Beast doesn't change if upgraded.
08 ?e La Fille, Gem Princess upgraded shows 5 where a 7 should be. Similar to Noa's glitch.
09 Hastewing Dragonewt's text makes no sense. Seems to imply playing 2 or more of a specific cost cards will fetch it and that it's possible to make it free but it's text is unclear.
