Not everything can go through the portals. Crossbow bolts, sub-machine gun grenades, and some other stuff I forgot to mention.

Props can go through, but the prop in question needs to be in motion. So if I were to drop a portal on a prop, it won't go through. Also, if the portals are on the ground, things will have a hard time going through them.

ArcCW guns and MW guns don't seem to shoot through the portals.

EDIT: ArcCW does work, but MW guns don't. Vanilla guns work too but there is always glass impact sound on the portals.

Not much you can really do about that. If ArcCW doesn't want to use standard APIs like ShootBullets or TraceLine then so be it, however that means it requires special attention to make those addons compatible that is really only worth expending because they're popular.

again, best results are in a local server, not singleplayer

since for some reason in singleplayer you cant edit bullet traces on the client

Because it's predicted. It did not have to be designed this way at all, in fact most multiplayer games just use a local server for "singleplayer", but in the source engine's singleplayer the vast majority of predicted methods are merged so that they are only called once, instead of twice (client & server). Usually this is a good thing but, makes it more resistant to any big changes you want to make

The portal don't work for passing through campaign of half-life 2 maps, like after from the train to Eli's base lab

please post actual bugs (like script errors and unintentional addon conflictions) lmao

lmao, just stitch every map in your library together into one map, I'm sure the engine can handle it XD

In all seriousness, I have one bug that happens on my game that idk the cause of. Once a set of portals are removed under any circumstances (removing with portal gun, undoing, or dying), their views become a black screen and don't change your x view angle correctly anymore when passing thru them (as in it doesn't change at all). They do however fix themselves when the command lua_reloadents is ran (though it breaks server edits I make to my weapons so for me it's not a fun solution, plus the game freezes for a while while it does its thing).

It's most likely a hidden (because there are no errors) addon confliction, since I haven't seen anyone else report this issue, but I wouldn't know which addons to begin testing to find the culprit, and I have a ton so I'd rather not do the turn off pages of addons at a time and narrow it down approach. I've done that enough to last a lifetime haha. Would you know of any good addons to look for and disable to test this?

Yeah not sure why but seems like the portal doesn't know that its exit is invalid. Is something preventing it from thinking? I would be suspicious of any mods that make sweeping changes to entity behavior or rendering
