Report a translation problem
If a country had a presence in the area its typically a question of using the historical name, but when a country wasn't present translators look at how other colonies were named.
Monarchs? Place names in the old world? Holy people?
For Turkish surely there are place names in the former empire that was founded by Turks that could serve as inspiration for New World colonies, but mostly its a creative role :)
Also, it's considered polite to reach out to the original translator, this will also make the end product higher as you suddenly have someone to spar with :)
Best of luck!
And please do! :)
