Balance discussion, ideas
Since the Steam page has limited sign capacity, I had to cut out some info. I like Tynan's approach and treat Rimworld like a story generator first. Seeing raw numbers can diminish the magic, so if I had to move something, I chose this.

Again, feel free to comment and suggest tweaks or new features.

    Couple dynamics
  • Harmonious: cheating -50%
  • Complementary: new type of lovin, 10% chance, lasts 3 times longer, creates fresh stack of mood separate from normal lovin

    One night stand (VSIE)
  • Harmonious: 20% higher chance to become a couple
  • Complementary: lovers have 10% chance for passionate lovin

    Friendly fire
  • Harmonious: 33% less chance to get shot in crossfire

    Caravans
  • Harmonious: visibility halved
  • Complementary: 10% faster
  • Disparate: 15% faster, 50% more visibility

    Working in groups (VSIE)
  • Complimentary: additional 5% bonus
  • Disparate: 10% bonus

    Social conflicts in groups (VSIE)
  • Disparate: 25% higher discord chance
  • Harmonious: 50% lower discord chance

    Emapthy in friendship (VSIE)
  • Harmonious: Sharing the burden 20 -> 30, My friend vented to me -5 -> -15

    Fluid personality (VSIE)
  • 10% chance to happen, uses the same triggers as VSIE trait change. If both changes are enabled, vanilla trait change is checked first.
  • Character shift has a random cooldown of 0,5-1,5 years for given pawn
  • 60% chance to change 3rd trait, 30% change to change 2nd trait, 10% chance to change 1st trait
  • 1st trait change usually means also a personality type change

    Faction interaction
  • Harmonious: 10% better prices, 20% more goodwill gain from gifts

Suggestion: Rimworld has a hidden "compatibility score" between 2 colonists that is based on a random hash function calculated from their ID's. This makes colonists predisposed to liking or disliking certain other colonists.

I think it would be extremely cool if this compatibility score was no longer random, and was instead based on the personality types and traits between the two. Make colonists more likely to have positive social interactions with complementary personality types, and have the opposite for conflicting personality types.
