Additional details + music credits + other thread
The important stuff that I am pretty aware 80% of the community won't even bother reading (as if they read the description to begin with)

  • Addons that alter NPCs, props, weapon behavior will break the map. Before reporting bugs or playing the map, disable ALL addons.
  • The map is Singleplayer ONLY!
  • The addon isn't meant to be played with other gamemodes except Sandbox.


If you want a better experience, install Half-Life 2: MMod - Weapon Replacements Redux : Makes the vanilla weaponry much better and eye pleasing.

THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!
This might also be updated from time to time.

Map details
  • The map used to be called "rundown_district". It was changed to "Sincity" because I wanted to avoid a confusion between Social guarantee's map and mine.
  • The layout was remade about 3 times. First layout was decent but it was confusing as hell and all buildings were weirdly positioned. On top of that, it had a lot of issues under the hood to the point where I decided to remake it again. Second layout was much better than the first, but it came with it's own issue : It was too BIG. It was a hell to optimize the map and it was even more linear and large than the current layout. Third remake is the one you are currently playing.
  • Sincity suffered a long development hell due to life issues and also me being demotivated for it's future. It was meant to be a one year project and honestly, this should had been released 2 years ago. But, to be fair, it allowed me to experiment with some features and they turned out to be great!
  • The reason objectives are behind interiors instead of teleport straight to them is because I wanted to make the map feel unique and a bit realistic. I might reconsider adding them back in the next story map so you only go to the objective instead of going through a large interior and then to the objective.

Cut content:
Story
  • Originally, the map had only 2 factions : Rebels and TKK. Each faction had 10 missions. This was changed as the story was odd and needed a change.
  • Rebels's HQ was in a church.
  • Before joining a faction, you had to do quests from each member. It was removed during development because the missions felt like filler. I might bring this back in a future installment.
  • Before being moved to another interior, TKK's boss was in Sincity's nightclub.
  • Racist joe. It was meant to be a special route for those that explored the map. Before the second remake, the map featured a dump with a couple of hobos. This guy would give you 3 missions and promise you a lot of cash. Completing them would grant you nothing but a laugh from him. You could've killed him even before doing the route. The missions are hard to describe without getting myself banned. He was removed for obvious reasons.
  • Genocide route. Firstly, I wanted to revolve it around a cult, aka the insane individuals inside the abandoned building during TKK's route. The problem was that you had to do a specific route, then a specific x action, specific y kill etc etc. In the end, I scrapped it because it was too confusing and annoying to trigger it. Kille and I decided to bring this back in V3 but with a better version.
  • Franklin was in the dump before being later moved to a warehouse.
  • Hank was meant to be a TKK spy.
  • If you wanted to join the rebels, you first had to do quests from a couple of shopkeepers, then answer a payphone. It was removed as I thought it would confuse players.
  • Before the story remake, you were able to spare a few targets from different routes. I scrapped this and decided to use this in a sequel or something.
  • Each route would had gave you different apartments. It was removed because map limitations.
  • You could speedrun the map by stealing the money from the Punks. It was removed because it bugged out the route.
  • Punks wasn't meant to be a faction, but a side quest.
  • TKK had a female leader.
  • Faction called The Roses. I don't remember much about them other than being replaced by the Punks (word file containing all my plans and map ideas got corrupted. Thanks Microsoft!)
  • The map spawn was outside of a bar instead of apartment. I moved the spawn to the apartment so I can integrate the tutorial better.
  • The Rebels/Reds/TKK ending battle was meant to be in a abandoned museum.

Features
  • You were able to buy a car to ease the traversing from point A to point B. It was removed because you could kill npcs without consequences, but I might bring it back in a sequel or something.
  • Guns for hire that could aid you in combat. It was removed because it caused issues during gameplay and story.
  • Bus stops that would teleport you to any other bus stop on the map. It was removed because I didn't have space in the third remake.
  • Sewers that would help you avoid getting rushed by cops if you were a very naughty boy whilst loosing the wanted state. It was removed due to map limitations.
  • The furniture in your apartment was meant to actually let you customize what stuff you wanted and what you didn't, instead of being an achievement requirement.
  • You could order guns by using the laptop. This was removed because I had no knowledge of adding screen overlays and functions tied to it.
  • The Cafe Baltic was meant to be a bar where you could get beer. It was removed because it's functionality was moved to the Story Nightclub.
  • Red skulls that you had to pickup for genocide route achievements. Removed because genocide route got purged.
  • Dryer would clean your clothes for evading cops. I removed it because you could cycle it infinitely and even limiting it would cause issues in certain situations.

Overtime is available via payphone once you complete any of the routes, Kille is available at building 30 after overtime missions are done

After you collect the paycheck achievement, the payphone will ring within the same building
