Meanwhile, dat mouseover preview is already saving lots of time. What do you think about finishing the painting with a single right-click? There's a risk that players misclick if they tend to cancel with RMB, but would it actually happen more than once in a blue moon?
It occurred to me that the Artist would really love effects that shuffles the deck (like the neutral card deep breath) because of it redrawing paintings and refreshing starter relic, so maybe you can slot in 1 or 2 cards that do this if you need ideas.
For example, a card that provides block depending on how many paintings you have in your hand (to make a green non-blue deck viable), or a power card that gives you X block when you draw a painting, or X block for each status in hand, or YX block with X being the curse on your target opponent, or X block with X being the number of colours on the canvas.
Or you could have a power card that reduces opponen't strenght by half their curse....
What i'm trying to say is that unless you find a way to paint blue (either with a blue deck or a random colour deck that paints enough) then you can't play.
Some meaningful way of protection, be it through block or dmg negation or dmg mitigation or whatever is required in order not to be forced to play blue.
The first time per combat you create a painting, gain 1 energy
The first time per combat you play a painting, draw 1 card
The first time per combat you exhaust a painting, discard it instead
For every five times you Paint a color, Paint one more randomly
Every 10th Painting you play plays twice [retain count after combat]
call it the immortal brush or smth
edit: thought of better stats:every 4th painting you create gets added to your deck, counter resets after combat
